I would add to this that woolwich ditched Ozil and Aubamayang without too much detriment to them. In fact, they’ve gone from strength to strength. Both were on big contracts but happy enough to be paid off and shipped out.
Bingo. Very similar situation. Woolwich has undergone the culture transformation we need to.
Ndombele - £10.4m remaining on his contract
Dier - £4.42m remaining on his contract
Lloris - £5.2m
You all want to give them £20m to go away? £20m to go and sign for no fee for a PL team and play against us, at our expense.
Use your common sense. It'll cost us exactly the same to make them sit at home getting fat.
Ndombele comes back, the catering budget goes up by 30%...Not true. My man in the know reckons Ndombele has caused the catering budget to exceed by 30%.
Ndombele comes back, the catering budget goes up by 30%...
Ticket prices have gone up by £2.5m....
What's our catering budget? Is it £8m?
I can't believe he will get £10.4m just sit on his arse this year. CrazyNdombele has 2 years left on contract, so its £20m for just him to terminate his contract
100% you put them on gardening leave. or have them train with the kids etc. a year of no match football will damage their career so if they actually value playing football they will want off. its the only card the club has in situations like dier.
Make them play for a club in the championship or division 1, we are paying them after all so surely they have to do as we want, make it so the best option is for them to take the agreed deal else whereGaaaaah this is simple economics
If WE are paying their wages - WHY would WE want them playing for another club against us?
Make the fuckers sit at home watching us on MOTD but under no circumstances should we pay them to play for some one else.
That threat alone should make them look for a new club and willingly remove themselves from the wage bill. THAT saves us money and gets rid of the player.
Did he sign an extension? Thought it was 5 years beginning 19/20?Ndombele has 2 years left on contract, so its £20m for just him to terminate his contract

You can't make them do that. All that can be done is to make staying at Spurs the worst situation.Make them play for a club in the championship or division 1, we are paying them after all so surely they have to do as we want, make it so the best option is for them to take the agreed deal else where
That man puts 99 flakes in the training cones.a lot more than that with Ndombele there - he also has takeaways from training ground for his evening snacks

Apparently you can, as long as we are paying them we can send them anywhere we want.

I maintain that Richarlison was a good transfer and a good bit of squad building (someone who can play with and without Kane, a proven PL goalscorer, a great physical presence) especially as Conte seemed to absolutely love him, the issue is just that he hasn’t played well.Barnes can't play CF though.
There was a context-specific logic to the Richarlison deal in July 2022 that has been blown all to hell now, but you gotta understand it in those terms.
