What do you think Tanky is going to do if he’s told to stay away from the ground?
Or Hugo?
Or Dier?
You can’t make these players sit at home and pick their arse unless they’re happy to do that.
And you’d really have disgruntled senior pro’s training with the young and ambitious starlets?
We aren’t going to agree on this which is fine by me.
Differing opinions and all that.
Tanguy? The laziest fucker we've ever employed? He's gonna get on the blower to his mates, have a party, get on it.

Hugo is a pro and I suspect he'll be gone once the final choice is made.

Dier will want to have a shot at the England squad. If he has even a quarter of a brain behind those dense looking eyes, he'll be looking for a new club right now. Doesn't matter to him if he's on gardening leave or training, if he's not in the squad, he won't be getting picked for England. (He won't anyway, but he probably thinks he has a chance)

The bigger issue for you me and every one here is Levy and his Levynomics. He won't bring anyone else in until they're gone and off the wage bill.
Big clubs just exclude them and carry on improving their squads. Not our dipshit.

You're kinda right. This shit has been around since day one but not on the salaries that these guys have. Easy to make them train with the yoof when they are on normal wages. Less so on 10K a week.

Eric (as an example) will happily scratch his nuts on his basic, missing out on the big promise (game time, clean sheet yada yada) until he walks into a free sign on and the next 2 years of retirement.

Even on 10K a week, these fuckers are thinking about the Costa del Sol for the next 30 years over and above playing football. I hope Ange has a big brush to clean this house.

The motivation is that if he negotiates a lower settlement to allow him to leave for free he will be able to sign for whoever he wants.

............And earn far less money per yer by doing so?

You're not really putting yourself in the mind of a mercenary dosser.

He didn't turn up his nose at the loan to Napoli and this summer it seems he has rejected a permanent move to Turkey. Again, it's the club unable to accept anything other than a sale or possible loan. The club have to open the option of allowing him to leave for free and then negotiate a pay off which will be much less than 20 mill. That's what Arse did with Aubamayang. He was earning 350k a week and had 18 months left on his deal. That's about 25 mill he could have earned by just staying there. However through negotiations he accepted a 7 mill pay off and Arse also agreed to pay half his Barca wages for 6 months. So Arse got rid of the problem and saved around 10 mill which was due to him had they done nothing and just allowed him to hang around the club for the final 18 months of his deal.

If there was a glitzy club like Barca looming, I'd fully expect him to move so long as the overall net benefit was more the 20m he still under contract for.

Sadly for us his lazy rep would appear to have caught up with him cos there doesn't seem to be anyone outside of Turkey interested in him.... Even on a loan for a fraction of his wages (a la Napoli last year).

You're literally making that up. Show me where the club can't tell a player to stay away. Or at the very worst train alone.
This is a lesser punishment of training with the u23s

FIFA's recent legal commentary recommended that “the main body of training would need to be part of the team or squad”.

Read this and also the link I posted earlier on Luke Shaw if you still think it's possible then fine you've found a loop hole.

So what do you suggest? You have a player that just wants to pick up his salary for two years and not go anywhere. What do you do?

These big Portuguese clubs seem to have a smart system of signing promising prospects to contracts with high but attainable release clauses and then basically refusing to bargain below the release clause any time one of the megarich ESL-types comes knocking.

The suitors can afford the price if they really want the player and both sides know it.
Not true Levy took ages admittedly to sign Porro , but he eventually got the price up from what they originally wanted
