I agree with you, all be it from not having followed any of his teams previously, but from listening to those that have.
From what I can see we are still quite open at the back and better teams than we have faced would fill their boots I think. That said, this is what I was expecting Utd to do (I think they are a poor team to watch, very Jackall and Hyde (good halves followed by bad halves etc.) but what they do have is a consistent counter-attacking threat, they should have had a pen and that goofy cunt should have scored from a free header, but their other opportunities weren't gilt-edged (low xg) and we sorted things out as the first half grow to almost totally dominate in the 2nd half.
Against Bournemouth (yeah I know - but I think they are a tough side to play against) our off-ball positional play was really good. There are not only signs of what Ange has implemented but also signs that we are improving with each game. Obviously, much bigger tests to come, especially against sides that are tactically drilled over a number of years and know what is required from the coach almost as 2nd nature but I went into this season with the expectation that we will get spanked a number of times whilst things bed in and players get up to speed.
FYI - It just feels like we are miles ahead of where I thought we would be (it took Poch fucking ages to implement his ideas!).

Yeah nah he wasn't, that's a total mischaracterisation of events and you are wrong about everything you think you know about Australian Football.

His credibility was in the toilet as a role model!
Someone said it on the commentary for one of our games, might have been Peter Drury, something to the tune of "Spurs have been THE club of false dawns".
I like Ange, and I believe in the philosophy of the football he plays as the path forward. I am very happy for the positive start giving him a bit of breathing room in what could have been an uncomfortable situation with the Kane departure.
That's as far as I'm allowing myself to go.
That’s beside the point, what people think of Bosnich now. He’s changed his tune now that Ange has been successful overseas, but he was a vocal Ange critic for many years before he left for Japan.
Yeah both him and Slater if I remember correctly. In hindsight, I'm glad things played out the way they did as he's now managing in the EPL right now!
But at that time, such disrespect given what Ange did for Australian football.

Wasn't sure where to post this. Someone had tweeted these two pictures, one after a Harry Kane goal last season and one after Sarr's goal at the weekend.
Kane is on his own in his pic, but in the Sarr pic every outfielder is there, I suppose it was to illustrate that we are more of a team this season...It's BS of course, if the kane photo had been taken a second or two later more players would have been in it...
But I spotted something a hell of a lot more significant, look at all those white shirts!!!!

The criticism was in the context of the Socceroos failing for direct qualification from Asia for the first time ever and Postecoglou's refusal to change his approach ( He literally says that he won't change in that link)
Postecoglou's predecessor, Osieck in fact did get sacked, and he achieved what Postecoglou couldn't: direct qualification to the WC, so its not as if there was a personal agenda against him.

Does Ange get the opportunity to build? That's going to be the key factor.
