He obviously loves his cricket and would support the Australian team but he takes his holidays in Greece not Melbourne, if that’s an indication of where his heart lies.

Yes, the 60's and 70' were tough here for those with surnames longer that Smith, but Australia nowadays is a great melting pot. I can vouch for that.
I have followed his career closely, from his time here to Japan where I had a business for years. My wife is Japanese and i embraced the J League.
He's an Aussie... proud of his Greek heritage. No more, no less.
