Skipp can’t play the Bissouma role in this system, no way.
Bissouma often drops into the back three in build up or is picking the ball up with his back turned, and then needing to dribble into space. Skipp has some good attributes but isn’t technical or decisive enough to play in that role.
Ultimately, more and more, I find it hard to see where he fits into the team. His best role for now is the box to box 8 role that Sarr has been playing.
Tweets not quite right, they took Devine from u20 squadInteresting they chose Devine. I’d guess Gibbs-White was also in u21?
You are Devines dad?!
As much as you are.
Yeah, they are lifting in players from the U20 team to fill spots in training. The U20s apparently don't have any games until late October so they are just having a training camp and can thus be more flexible with letting players go off to train with the big lads for a session or two.Tweets not quite right, they took Devine from u20 squad
I think most of the older players from the u21 euros like Skipp, Gibbs-White, Aarons, Gomes, Smith-Rowe no longer in the u21 squad
No it's not, it's gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking! It's nice to see him with Maddison and Kane, I'm sure they're taking him under their wings.

Reckon his loan is 1 and done then he's Maddison back up next season.

Agree. actually solid development by the club with him. But also, I feel like talented players develop better anyway and that makes your structures look smart, even if they aren't. Were Bostock or Taarabt ever going to be elite and we just failed them? Was it because of our loan policy that Kane worked out?Yep. Ange will have no problem bringing him into the squad next season in my opinion.
Getting 40+ games under his belt this season is important for that development.
Looks like he's playing RW for PV as well but seems like it's RW the way that Maddison played off a wing for Leicester. They still come inside and play 10 but off the ball they are less central.Always looked good in preseason to me, although played at the wrong position as RW.
He was never gonna break straight into the team this season, a loan this season can hopefully help him to help the 1st team next season.

Or was it 90% to do with the player themselves?
For sure.Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
Taarabt coasted through on his ability. Plus I feel like he played in a time where he could get away with it. Less pressing, slower game etc. And I personally don't think Bostock was anything special outside of the fact he made his pro debut at a young age.
Kane is the definition of statement above. And I think in this day and age, it's impossible to succeed at the top level if you don't put that in.
Devine, from everything we hear is talented and works hard and by people in the game thought he had been ready for first team football for the last few years and didn't get it. So I'm glad he has this year.
