Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sometimes teams do build their attacks around one player, and it can work out if the player is clutch enough, like Benzema a couple of seasons ago, Kane is just not that guy.

Benzema played in an amazing RM team, so it’s still the team even if he is a key player. Messi with a only half decent Argentina side is probably a better example of one player being the difference.

Some of the comments are here are amazing. You can dislike or disagree with what he said and not do it because you love Levy. You can agree with some of what he said and accept he was part of the problem possibly. You can dislike him saying what he did and still appreciate his contribution over the years.

This need to sit at polar opposites is just stupid.

If he's that shit we should have sold him when City came calling.

Mentality of some people, won't allow any criticism of our owners but can't wait to stick the boot into our record goalscorer.

Pathetic.
"Criticism of the owners" is an interesting interpretation of what he actually said. The only pathetic thing here is you trying to force your agenda while ignoring what he said.

Wish he'd just shut up, nobody actually gives a shit about his opinion. He was as responsible as anyone for the culture within the club considering he was captain. Any criticisms of it, point right back at him.

Keep Tottenham out of your mouth and concentrate on winning the pub league.

We're playing an exciting brand of football and things look promising under Big Ange. I know what camp I'd rather be in.

Agenda?!

I wasn't referring to what he said but what others have written on here, constantly blaming everyone for our lack of trophies bar our owners.

Anyway, you lot have fun slagging off our record goalscorer.

Maybe everyone including the owners are to blame for our lack of trophies? Saying Kane has never stepped up is not slagging him off, it's telling the truth.

Chuck in the games in knock out tournaments with the best players in England(and a few best in Europe) when he failed...guess that was on Rahim Sterling. He's just not being fully honest, it's why I'm glad we are rebuilding. He's speaking half truths. That side that Ledley King captained to our last trophy was not better than any of the ones Kane played in three finals. Ledley turned up and so did Dider fucking Zakora against a much much better side. That's the full truth. He just should not go there because not nice to have to point the full picture out.
Steed Malbranque gets nowhere near those teams that Kane played on, look what he did vs City when we were down to 10 in the 2008 run.

Ramon bloody Vega turned into a Spartan warrior down when we went down to 10 men in the 1999 final.

Kane isn’t that guy and he doesn’t have the required DAWG. And it’s ok to say so.

Reminds me of an NHL quote; “There are players who get you to the playoffs, and the players who get you THROUGH the playoffs.“

Somehow, it seems that we've moved on faster than him. He's still talking about us, even after he got his big move. As others said, I respect him, but I couldn't give a fuck about him now.

Also, the Champions League comments are funny coming from a guy who got outscored by Richarlison last season in said competition.

We all agree with what he is saying though , the pressure is different at Bayern , they expect to win the league we hoped to come 4th - Still Bayern only really have a couple of games a year anyway the rest is just like training matches

Exactly, we’re never going to be expected to win every match like Bayern. If he wanted that pressure so badly, why didn’t he hand a transfer request in in 2021?

bigger chance at winning what? bayern have 1 respectable trophy they can win a year and thats the CL. the rest they should be steamrolling. the CL is where they get judged. we are in the toughest league there has ever been, the prem now is stronger than serie A back in the day imo. hes left the real competition to go and win some cheap trophies that bayern would win without him, theyve got him to try win the CL if they dont do that hes a failure. thats his pressure

Honestly feel like Kane is mugging off the club and the fans a bit here.
Dont begrudge him the move to Bayern but just keep your mouth shut and move on.

He's stating the obvious and also appearing a bit thick in the process. Bayern are by far and away the biggest and most dominant club in Germany which is a league way below Premier league standard.
The expectation to win every game goes hand in hand with that.

Bayern may well win the league, do the double etc but it isnt because Kane went there, they'd do it in any case as they have done for the last 10 years.

We dont have the same status as Bayern within the premier league so no one, including the fans expects us to win every game or the league every year unless they are deluded.

Couldn't agree more.

Bigging up a player who made it clear (twice) that he didn't want to play for us and forced a move.
Then hoping that he wins trophies at another club.

That's definitely gooner behaviour.
It's cool stevee they can't handle nuance and that's fine( though it kind of why the worlds the mess it is). More than one thing can be true as VirginiaSpur VirginiaSpur says. Kane is great he's also as responsible for our failure as the other eleven blokes on a given day. They can hide behind unless you have unconditional love your a Gooner act pretending the whole Nevile interview and City flirtation did not happen but it did. Eventually they will come to terms.

Oh look a legacy fan who understands that ENIC is not Spurs and we did not begin or end with Gary Nevile and SKY....
