It isn't. He got us into Europe's top competition. No-one else has in my lifetime.

success is winning Europes top trophy not simply qualifying for it

AVB won more football matches in his first season than Harry ever did and has a higher winning percentage

so if you're not gonna judge success by winning actual silverwear then it all becomes hugely subjective

I was a staunch Harry fan but me being bitter accomplishes sweet fuck all in the grand scheme of things

Jol was fucking amazing, best Spurs manager in my life time. Kick started it all.

Well yeah Jol was pretty great too and there's even an argument that he was our most successful manager of recent times because we made the biggest amount of consistent progress under him. We actually became a top end team challenging for European places. Plus the cup win was pretty much with his squad.

Ramos was as fucking cunt, worst manager of my lifetime, almost ended it all.

Yeah I hated beating the filth 5-1 in the semis and then having the horror of beating Chelsea in the final...... Sad times.

Still its a bit ironic that we are slagging off a Spaniard who didn't even get one whole season but had a proven track record in Spain... Who'd have thought it eh....

Wonder if he can take pens :troll:

So who's been a better manager in the past decade and a half, as was the original time span posed?

If success is silverware, you have a pick of Ramos and Graham. Otherwise, Harry bettered Jol's best finish twice, reached a cup final and a further two semi finals. Not to mention our wonderful season in the Champions League and Mario Gomez putting the right boots on the right feet away from a second.

Ramos time here was nuts, almost destined for failure with how it all started. How we could put in such great performances in the Pavlyuchenko Cup lol but suck major balls in the league was crazy. But it was only because of Ramos that Harry was given a shot, so is he in someway a success story too?

Well IN MY OPINION with Harry and AVB it's a pretty close run thing. Harry won more cup matches and AVB has won more league matches plus has a better overall winning percentage. TBH with Modric, VDV and Bale I think Harry maybe should've done better in the league with hindsight an all. Point is they both were/are very good managers for us and depending on how any one particular person looks at it either could be deemed our most successful manager of recent times. Then there's Jol to also consider who we made giant strides under transforming from mid/lower table chumps to becoming a top end team who were one dodgy lasagne away from CL footy.

The best thing about the Ramos era for me was that, at the start of the season where he got the sack, the support remained very strong at WHL. I remember losing to Hull at home and during the 2nd half there was an immense period of non-stop "We are Tottenham..." chants going on. We also had a whole lot of new players in the team, similar to now. But he was totally useless; nobody should be fooled by the cup win.
