That's what I'm thinking. You can't play a high line w Davies and Dier. CAN you?

Ben Davies has had a long career. But at this point, I don't see how he fit's Ange's system. If Ange is intent on continuing to play this way (and by all accounts he is), I think we're better off with Royal playing that inverted LB role. I could see MAYBE letting Davies sit back and "protect" Phillips a little more for this next game. It's just hard to know.

Think it would probably be Phillips "protecting" Davies and Dier if he plays since he can cover with his pace

Protect like he did against Palace? Lost five aerial challenges in a row….. he’s been good at times for us but rarely at LB. Weirdly, he’s a better LWB than LB

I think Ange’s protection strategy is more likely to play Johnson there and attack!
 
Lots of previous arguments in this thread are going to be settled in the coming weeks.

I would love to see Phillips get a chance but really think Ange will play Davies/Dier/Romero or even PEH ahead of him.

We will soon see.

I think Ange is brave; but just how brave is he?
 
How’s his pace compared to Davies? Wolves will be a test, not sure this is the ideal starting point for him but if Ange picks him, I’ll accept it. Our tactics might need to be that we’ll score more than you! Defo don’t think Davies should be LB, Emerson isn’t the worst backup for Udogie tbh
 
Think we will be fortunate to get a draw against wolves, I think they will cause us problems without our strongest line up.
We might find a few wonky results, in the next few games, until the team is back.

Faster than Davies. He's not quite VDV quick but he's pretty fast
 
I will freely admit I have been on the booze all day for work , I missed last night but I do not care right now about right or wrong tactics down to 10 or 9 , I love watching my team again . Ange may or not be found out to be tactically lacking . Frankly I don’t care I love watching my team play again.
