Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Think he’s been very good almost every time he’s played for us, been unlucky a couple times with the post and saves. He was absolutely dusting Livramento today.

Think he’s due to blow up in the New Year. Basically signed on deadline day and had the early injury, can see him settling. I like him on the right with Deki in the middle until Maddison’s return.

Like other posters I think Johnson is better playing on the right - as he did at Notts Forest as well as centrally.

Now we are starting to get a few players back from injury, Ange is able to play players in their best positions which is good - but I like the way that most of the front players are able to play in different positions :

Johnson - Right wing, centrally and 3rd option as left wing
Son - Centrally or left wing and 3rd option left wing
Richarlison - Centrally or left wing
Kulusevski - No 10 or RW

Whilst Ange should play them in their best position, their abilities to change and play in different positions makes Spurs unpredictable and difficult to play against - and that is enhanced by full backs Porro and Udogie cutting inside into midfield positions from which they advance to often become the most forward Spurs players around the opposition penalty box.

Still work to be done on getting players to attack the final 3rd but we've made huge progress already this season and are unrecognisable to how we played in Spring this year (very defensively).

I'm not his biggest fan, but we looked much more purposeful with him as the RF. Having someone who can actually go past a defender and zip in some cut backs from the byline is definitely more useful than having someone who shuffles inside very slowly then hits a cross into the stands.

Having it on both sides - as opposed to neither for the last few games - really caused Newcastle problems.
