That’s something I don’t quite understand, which GDG mentioned. Ange likes his fullbacks to tuck in and play through the middle, but then uses 2 inverted wingers too. Maybe his plan is for the fullbacks to mix it up and go outside at times. That’s asking a lot of the fullbacks, but I guess that’s part of Ange ball and why you need both fit/pacy fullbacks and the likes of Romero and Micky to hold the fort in the middle.

Agree. I hate inverted wingers, it doesn’t suit the majority of wide playersNo reason he can't play well on the left. He can drive towards the byline and fire crosses or cutbacks, and he can vacate the space for Udogie to underlap, which Johnson is not doing at the moment.
