That’s something I don’t quite understand, which GDG mentioned. Ange likes his fullbacks to tuck in and play through the middle, but then uses 2 inverted wingers too. Maybe his plan is for the fullbacks to mix it up and go outside at times. That’s asking a lot of the fullbacks, but I guess that’s part of Ange ball and why you need both fit/pacy fullbacks and the likes of Romero and Micky to hold the fort in the middle.
When everyone was fit Ange was subbing the FBs out round 75mins-ish.
That makes sense, and I suppose it begs the question as to whether we need to also improve our depth at that position with the right kind of players. I think Ben can fill in adequately for Udogie (maybe Sess if there’s a redemption arc there?), but I’m not so sure about Emerson on the right.

Much much better on the right but I still felt he was the worst of our 4 attacking players. Son dominated the LW, Richy pressed and scored, and Kulu created a lot of chances.

feel like hed be better as an impact sub against tired legs. his passing was atrocious today. he also hid behind a defender when there was acres of space to move into for a pass from kulu.
Needs a run now on the right. He's still raw so will have ups and downs but there is potentially a great player in there. Have patience

Missed a goal by inches and had a delivery that would have been on a plate had Richarlison made a better run. Richy had plenty of space to run into and still be onside but slowed down until the cross was on.
