Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think he's been really good since joining minus his finishing. 1 goal and 3 assists in 11 games isn't bad but again he needs to improve on finishing as he should have had another 3 goals minimum.

He's played mostly in a position he' not used to AND started playing regularly when the team was depleted after returning from injury. Let's see how he does when he plays with players like Maddison and Bentancur regularly.

Didn’t seem 100% today. Great assist for the goal and linked up well early on but noticed him bottle a few 50/50s, gave up on balls he shouldn’t have given up on and was reluctant to put himself in a position where he’d get into contact.

Yes you want to avoid getting injured but you cannot avoid contact at this level. Whether it’s because he got hurt last week I don’t know, but yeah. Was disappointing to see it today.

He does show a lot of potential though, hopefully he’ll come good.

Happy to be corrected but he’s still young and I’ve seen enough to give him time.
For context Udogie and Sarr are 21, Van de Ven is 22, Kulu is 23. 22 is young, but not that young for a footballer.

At 22 Kane was in his second season as a starter, and won a golden boot. Romero won copa America at 23 years old.

Bollocks, he's been one of our most creative players out on the right and regularly makes things happen that side, far more than Johnson has in that position IMO.
Kulusevski has started 13 games this season on the right and has 0 assists before he moved to a more central position.

Johnson on the other hand has 2 assists starting on the right and 1 on the left.

Ironically you're talking bollocks whilst telling someone else to stop talking bollocks.

Not one of his better games, but I think he was a little hesitant, not surprisingly, with 16 stitches in his forehead. He doesn't have a lot of luck with his finishing, hopefully that will change soon.

I'm going to judge Johnson when he's actually in a side with our first team players. He has his good and bad moments in games which is abit inconsistent however he's been at the club in a time where we have had various injuries/suspensions.

Like mentioned above, put him in a side with Madders, Bentancur etc and I think we will see alot more from him.

He's being ok in alot of the games, you can see his talents for sure, but really need im to step in the last phase , especially around shooting really need some goals from im once Sonny goes off. He defo has it , just hasnt happened, i dunno whether thats due to the step up and settling in the team or if he has a mini confidence issue around scoring... Fingers crossed he cant sort , ideal ime would be during Sonnys absence.

Should’ve scored today, the chance he missed was very similar to his goal against wolves.

Ultimately though, his role is to be the off ball winger with the playmaker full back (Porro) behind him

When we get our 1v1 specialist LW who will draw defenders over, he’s going to have so many opportunities to score as the free man at the back post.
