Presumably you mean Udogie and Porro.

I was very skeptical of Porro at FB — never seen Udogie so I had no opinion — but the truth is that he doesn’t play as a traditional FB in Ange’s system.
His defending still leaves plenty to be desired (as was clearly demonstrated this week) but his strengths going forward on a possession based team more than compensate.
 
Take out Davies, Perisic and Dier and the ages of our defenders are:

18
25 (Romero)
22
18
21
24
21

Or 21.5 years average age.

We should be minted for the next decade, before taking into account any players coming through the youth system.

I think the issue with Johnson is there doesn’t seem to be that real willingness and desire to be top level. He has good attributes but doesn’t use them enough. He’ll always produce moments in a game like yesterday but there’s something missing in his game.

I definitely don’t think we should be writing him off though.
