Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No risk loan for Werner not a bad gamble for a Jan window, not many players about that teams will part with and he is unequivocally a better player than Gil. Probably won't start when our full contingent is back but he's pacey and offers a different option from the bench, something we are sorely lacking in the front 3 atm with Solomon still injured.

I suspect we're gonna do at most 2 permanent deals, probably a CB and seems to me like Ange wants to go a different route than Skipp/Hoj as backup in the 6 slot if the interest in Gallagher is anything to go by.

Just looking at his Chelsea stats:

21/22
2219 minutes played (25 games)
11 goals
6 asissts
Goal or assist every 1.4 games

20/21
3832 minutes (43 games)
12 goals
15 assists
Goal or assist every 1.7 games

So that's 44 goal involvements in what's about the equivalent of 67 games.. Giving him a record of a goal or assist every 1.5 games...

That's really......not as bad as I thought 😂😂

If Ange has said yes to Werner, anyone on here saying no can get fucked.

:levystare:"Timo Werner on a 6 month loan, Ange..........You like?"

Richarlison , Werner, Johnson , Kulusevski

That's a clinical and elite forward line if ever I saw one

Composure and clinical finishing in abundance

Give us the prem trophy now

First season back he got 16 goals in 40 games across all comps...that's not a bad return, especially as he also assisted a few (3 in the Bundesliga). This season he's only played 8 times in the league, of which 2 were starts, and his average GT isn't even a half hour. Still bagged a couple goals.

It's been tough for him cause he's missed a lot of games through injuries them past 2 years...done his back, ankle, adductors...also had Covid & subsequent shockwaves.

But mainly, they've signed that Xavi Simons kid on loan from PSG and as he's a left-sided AM/winger, well he's taken Werner's minutes. Up top they've also signed Openda and that Sesko lad United & Chavs are said to be after...they've both been playing, scoring (for fun in Openda's case) so tough to drop them. Poulsen gets more mins than Werner as a sub, even Forsberg got more gametime before he left.

Think the lad has just been a bit unlucky, a move to us could do him some good. But his injury record, more than his lacks of goals & confidence, is the major concern...

This season in 8 matches (204 minutes) he has scored scored 2 goals, with an average of 0.88 goals per 90 minutes, placing him in the 99th percentile for goals scored.

Shot accuracy of 85.71%, and took 7 shots, with 6 on target.

His expected goals (xG) was 1.58, with a non-penalty xG of 0.88. He also scored 1 penalty.

He's scored 18 in 54 games.

I haven't seen much of RB Leipzig lately but pretty sure Marco Rose now plays with a 4222 system that doesn't really have room for him.

Thanks for intelligent contributions instead of "He's shit" or "He's a donkey."
