Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Do you honestly think we can get 2 Champions League standard CBs in a January window?
I didn't say anything about Champions League standard, I just said 2 CBs
You pull names out of your ass without even knowing if any of them are actually available.
Is Cirkin available?
Yes he is available for 6 million we have a buy back clause until June 2024
Contending teams don’t want to sell their best assets. Neither do teams in danger of relegation.
Players don’t want to move. There’s literally 1/10th of the movement.
That doesn't mean we don't try,

We’re only interested in players that are CL standard.

This isn’t tough to understand but you tenaciously fail to grasp the point.
How do you know? Who told you that? Is Werner CL standard?

Well we revamped our scouting set up surely to give us a bit of edge over Man U and money ball clubs.
As been pointed out many times our buys have improved, such as Udogie and Sarr. Why can't we do smart buys like that in this window?

Player availability.

Its not a question of just scouting the VAST majority of players do NOT want to move in January.

If they did, quite a few clubs would have registered transfers already - the fact they haven't should tell you players willing to move are in short supply.

We haven't signed a CB yet, just put a bid in.
If we end up with just Dragsuin and Werner, that's not a good enough window to me.
Why?

If/When we get Radu, he could be potentially one of the best CB signings during the winter period. This would be an amazing signing for us.

One of the reasons why I want him done quickly as I think he will be a monster for us in the future.

Until we signed, Werner, I had never heard of him before. I can't say he is good or bad, but if Ange gave the nod then that is a positive sign. Soloman was a free, nout wrong with him, he has been very impressive.

It wouldn't be a bad window at all.

Ignoring your usual go at our own player, he wouldn't come to us because we could barely afford a week of his wages yet alone a month.....like most of the premier league bar maybe City.
Wasn't there rumour that he wasn't tracking back etc under Poch when he was at PSG?

I don;t care if he is Mbappe, I want players like Porro who gives his all. Mbappe, maybe be very talented, but it seems to me from past comments, he wouldn;t work well with Ange, as Ange would tell him to pull his weight on the field and wont stand for his bullshit.

I think Dragusin and Werner in , is probably our window done, unless say Hojberg leaves then maybe another midfielder comes in.

But it doesn't stop us from trying right?

I'm not sayin Radu is a bad signing.
Werner is damaged goods he failed at Chelsea, he's failing at Leipzig much different than Soloman.
Typically these loan type punts, e.g Gedson, CV, Lenglet, Danjuma, don't work out, which is why I'm skeptical about the Werner signing.

Literally nobody knows if he really wants this or not.
I've seen so many comments that he has the final say but I've no faith in that being true.

This reeks to me of opportunity knocked. At best Ange probably said "yeah, alright mate I'll him a go, maybe"
We will know based on playing time. Conte being a grade cunt would blatantly make it obvious a player was not his choice either verbally ‘club signing’ or not playing them at all.

fyi Dennis Cirkin has been out injured for some time and had a set back a few days ago when attempting to come back so he'll be out for a number of weeks. Nobody is going to want to buy an injured player (see Sessegnon to see why)

Whilst we do have a buy back clause it still requires the player to agree to move from Sunderland where he's been living for a couple of years to return to London. We may or may not decide to follow that up in the summer.

We do want to buy players who have the potential to become top class - and there are very few of them around willing to move - as was widely reported in summer Kelly (Bournemouth) club refusing to allow move despite only 6/12 months left on contract, Tosin doesn't want to be 3rd CB| only wants to start etc

Werner has been a top class striker (many caps for Germany) and many CL appearances and is only aged 27. The question is whether he is still at that level. His best times were playing for Nagelesmann in a high line pressing team, so as Ange teams play like that, there is a reasonable chance he might perform at Spurs - but that is why its a loan with an option to buy as its uncertain. And there are very very few even half good strikers as alternatives.

Kulu, bent, porro worked out but in fairness they had an option to buy which can motivate players. Also i dont doubt ange agreed to werner. I dont think conte wanted someone like danjuma
