Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I get your point, but I respectfully disagree, my man.

Regardless of who was in for him first, us or Bayern...obviously anyone would listen to Bayern when they come calling, same as we'd all listen to the big entities in our respective lines of work. That's his career, he's entitled to his decision.

That notion of him & his agent being a bit mercenary-like and using us to get more out of ze germanz may well be true, but could also just be regular practice, especially in football...but once again, lots of us would do something along those lines to get more money out of our current employer. Doesn't mean you don't love the outfit anymore, you're just looking out for No 1.

I don't know the lad, I don't know what's in his head, what his agent is telling him...perhaps he really wants to join us over them (which would be such a statement win for us/Ange). Personally I don't have that much of an issue with him trying to get us to match/exceed whatever Bayern's offering, he's human. And I don't believe that means he's using us, disrespecting us, that he's a money-whore etc.

Clubs act exactly the same by the way. Whatever they gotta do to save a few bucks, they'll do. A few reporters have, for instance, alluded to the fact that Spurs love to agree personal terms with a player first so they can use that to drive the price down with his club.

Agree. It’s just the game.

There is a reason I'm not in charge of making transfer decisions for the football club I support.

Apparently has something to do with being "compromised" and "not rational enough" or some absolute waffle like that. Honestly, I think I'd do a great job.

Fair play to Genoa for getting a bit more money out of us...well played.

Fair play to the agent for doing whatever it is agents do...but now, respectfully fuck off.

Fair play to our worker bees for sticking with it and going that extra yard. Nice one, Dan.

Fair play to the lad for picking us over Bayern...even if got more dosh out of us (not even sure).

Fair play to Ange and the boys for giving Draguson & Wernerson such a big boner watching us play.

Might as well give us the PL & FA Cup now.

Come on mate. Have a holiday.

I'm not even sure I want this player I've never seen before and spent the whole window banging on about not having a 3rd CB in the summer...

but even despite all that, getting a forward and a CB done before Jan 10th, with competition for both from Man UTD and Bayern Munich? Have to give that the credit it deserves.

Fair fucking fucks to the club on this. It's a huge win in the transfer market and an even bigger PR win.
Yes, extra money to get it over the line is worth it from a PR stand point alone.

You forgot one:

Fair play to the Romanian restaurants in London.

Unless an exceptional opportunity presents itself now, I expect this to be it for incomings.

Not bad, all in all. A couple of players in January who will do doubt prove useful.
I know the club want another centre mid, and are willing to allow Hojbjerg to go if we get one in.

However I think Gallagher is Ange’s desire, and that’ll be a tough move to negotiate in January and maybe the summer.

So I have some ITK from what happened , Dragusin was on his way to Bayern , ready to board the flight but Levy ended up stepping in to to Rescue the Deal , apparently Munn had a bit of first timer nerves and didn't actually think he had the authority to Offer Dragsuin 25% off the Sky walk for life, Levy managed to sweet talk the Romanian and he decided to picking us over the Germans!
Munn is still new in the role so Levy is putting it down to a lesson learned and hoping Munn from learns from this!
Full Credit to the Don Levy though for getting involved at the final hour when it was all falling apart, he has personally said he will now deal with Bayern on the Dier deal so i expect the new stadium to be stocked up on German beer as part of the deal!
:levylol:
Any how onto the next one, apparently we want at least 1 more this window! Please make sure you donate to the site to keep this info coming!
