Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A lot of people's weeks have been ruined on here now we've pulled the Radu transfer off
Do people really think that those of us that expect Levy to fail actually want it to happen and are disappointed when it doesn't?

Literally everyone at Spurs, players, coaches, board members etc, all of them that I can't stand I'd rather see succeed.

If a lightbulb clicked with Levy, and I saw behaviors at the club change, I would be pleasantly surprised. It would be better for the club if that happened, than the alternative which is to sell to an unknown quantity.

I posted earlier this morning and yesterday that Genoa are in financial difficulty and owe the taxman 106m€. They’ve agreed a discount with the taxman that allows them to pay only 65% of the debt but over the next x years. But the payment structure is still to be approved by the Italian courts.

Bayern offered 23m€ plus 7.5m€ in add ons, we offered 25m€ plus 5m€ add ons, so they only offered .5m€ more than us in total but 2m€ less right now.

Genoa would have certainly welcomed more money now imo👍👍
Yeah, appreciate that mate.

But i thought the deal was already agreed between clubs and was up to the player.

Is so, wouldn't make sense to go back to Genoa and offer them more money if our bid had already been accepted.

Us giving Genoa more money wouldn't sway Dragusin to join us over Bayern.

Unless they went back and rejected Bayerns offer, which I don't think happened.

Transfermarkt - who are German and thus conservative - so don't include add on's but just the guaranteed money have us spending 247m euros this season. That's before we have even started buying in January.

I get negativity towards the hierarchy is your schtick, but some semblance of believability please.

In fact, if we use the last 3 seasons, which is the period after the COVID impacted transfer window our spend on players is 520m euros.

That's 2021, 2022, 2023 summer windows and 2022, 2023 January windows.

The catch cry that our ownership is leaving our managers short is no longer applicable, since we are now seeing the fruits of our new stadium spending is more than adequate and failure should, and has, seen managers Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte sacked as a result.
You're talking about money spent, the post you're replying to is in reference to actual players for positions that needed filling.
If we spent £500m on a superstar forward, we'd still have left Ange short as we needed center backs.

Well, Hotspur88 on SC has been saying it’s ‘DONE’ for about 12 days now.

I really wanted this deal to happen, and I just knew as soon as that weasel starting his guessing bullshit things would go wrong.

The silly cock can’t even call one right once it’s been confirmed by reliable media sources. Total Jonah.

Never got a single guess right yet people still lap up his bollocks.

If it gets done, he will be absolutely lapping it up. All of this after he announced in December that ‘his mate no longer works at the club’.

Jesus wept.

Pleased we got the player but now have to read the ITK wankfest on SC.

The snake Hotspur88 went to re-confirm the news a few minutes after Romano tweeted. The sad fuck has alerts set up to copy his posts JUST in time. Constantly posts stuff after tier 1 Twitter posts.

The whole of the SC forum is now celebrating the ITK.

Not one ITK gave any sort of detail. Why didn’t they tell the forum we’d sent an improved bid? They just kept guessing ‘it will be done’.

I’m just as much of a cock for bothering to read it and get wound up that 99% can’t see through the bullshit, though. :roflmao::wall:

Unless an exceptional opportunity presents itself now, I expect this to be it for incomings.

Not bad, all in all. A couple of players in January who will do doubt prove useful.

We’ve been linked with a couple of youngsters so I wouldn’t rule out a buy and loan back opportunity somewhere along the lines. Plus you never know what might crop up in the last week. I wouldn’t mind a few out the door personally.
