Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

^^ This post has small dick energy....

My position has never changed, Levy will get a well done from me when/if this club starts winning silverware on the regular again, and only then.
He's already had a well done from me over the stadium back when it was finished, but now he has to win trophies. No more excuses from people like you. If we fail this time you have to finally hold your hands up and admit you were wrong.

As for this window as I already stated I'm happy with the Werner signing and was hopeful if we addressed the gaping hole at CB that would represent a decent window and maybe we could compete back half the season when the injured players return.
It took him a while but he finally got a CB over the line. Now we have to wait and see if he's actually a decent footballer.

I hope he turns out to be the next VVD and pilots us back into the CL and maybe even a cheeky FA cup win this season.

But a word of caution to the giddy.... one of the life lessions Supporting Spurs has taught me is not to blow your load early.
A lesson you clearly still need to learn.

You wasting you breath. These are a bunch of Daniel Levy Fans that happen to follow Spurs. Their favourite button is X. Usually when you say anything that's against Daddy Dearest.

Just Ignore their Xs and their "Pro Levy's Real Estate, Concert posts". You'll see, there should be four or five of them that will X this post.

As you've been told countless times by countless posters there was a club before Alan Sugar.
Which era is it you would like to go back to?

You stated not Sugar, the 90s.

Prefer the 80s ownership that nearly had us fold as a club? Guess not, even though we won a couple of trophies.

The 70s we got relegated and were fucking useless.

The 60's presumably. A 5-10 year slither of our 141 years where we won a bunch of things and were genuinely brilliant.

It's delusional to think any club could sit in their heyday indefinitely.

Grow up.

Completely different. Look I'm sure he's doing his best, but you don't start sucking the bosses off because they've hired you the tools you need to do the job.

It's not though, everyone is these scenarios are being paid and everyone has goals and achievements so you can't have one without the other, if Levy didn't do his job then they'd be no Ange, if Ange didn't do his job then they'd be no Maddison, if Maddison didn't do his job then they'd be no wins/goals for example, everything is relative.

Here's one to get you going... X

2.5k posts on here and 90% of them about the owner, you absolute mess

We don’t need a PEH replacement. We need an 8 and the ITK says we are looking for an 8 type. Eze much better 8 than Gallagher who’s fundamentally just another Rice or PEH with better lungs.

The thing with Eze is, he fills two remits , one as an eight and one as a wide forward, who can also dribble at people, again, another function, where lacking.

And he’s HG. With a great attitude by all accounts.

Not sure Eze fits Ange’s system? Without exclusively watching him, does he run enough to play in our midfield ? Playing wide he isn’t the type to stay wide and stretch the play either. Only position I can see him in our team is the Maddison role, 70/80m for a Maddison understudy, not for me

As I know many on here don’t rate Hojbjerg, and would be happy for him to leave…

Would you accept Hojbjerg goes for £30m and we get Henderson in for the remainder of the season on a short term contract?

Disclaimer, I’m not saying I want this.

Just asking for my club to do what it did on the regular before the current ownership took over, that's all.

Why should I be impressed with less?
We did it relatively regularly through the 80's. Before that, you have to go back nearly 20 years, and that was when we were one of the giants in English Football.

Then Scholar fucked us, we ended up with Sugar, and we spent more than a decade flirting with relegation. The odd cup, whilst nice, just papered over the cracks.

Since ENIC took over, we've only won a single trophy, this is true, but they've built us into a club that can at least compete, despite the massive amounts of advantages other clubs have had over us for those 20+ years.

Could they have done more when a possible title, the CL final etc beckoned? Absofuckinglutely, but don't rewrite history, we were never that prolific at winning trophies. There's a reason Chas and Dave sung it's lucky for Spurs when the year ends in one. Apart from a little flurry in the 60's and 80's, we'd maybe get a trophy once every 10 years.

"23 years of failure" has always been a bullshit false narrative.... If there's any truth to the "failure" narrative then we've been a "failure" since the mid 80s. Contrary to the lies of the toxic few (and JTs last avatar!); ENIC didn't end some serial winning streak.

You and Shady seem to be turning this into the ENIC thread. Behave yourselves, guys.

But just for balance, in the 23 years prior to ENIC, (let's compare apples with apples without moving the goalposts)..... .we won Three x FA cups, One League Cup, and One major European trophy. Which equates to One major trophy every 4 and a half years. (Without including community shields)

With ENIC, (23 years) we one just 1 League Cup 16 years ago and haven't even made a single FA Cup final during their tenure.

So factually, my 'last 'avatar' was correct.

Now. Can we stick to talking about transfers. Just because you have the ENIC thread on ignore that's no excuse for spilling your views over into this thread. Especially as you're one of the first to complain when others do the same

I mean, in the 80s we won 2 FA Cups and lost in a final, we won a Uefa Cup, we had a shot at the title, we signed top top talents ahead of United and Woolwich in the form of Linekar and Gazza.
In the 70s, we went down, yes, and we came straight back up. And we won 2 league cups and a Uefa Cup
60s we were probably the best team in England

But yeah, you try and make out like Spurs didn't mean much before the dark days of Sugar and that we should all be grateful for the last 24 years of sod all success.

it's all relative but context is needed. I don't want to start a levy discussion on this thread, I've always been on the fence anyway.

It's good to see us being proactive rather than reactive, anyway.

For 2 reasons
Hendo is well past his best
He ran off to Saudi and can fucking rot there like the rest of them IMO..It's hilarious they're all whining and want to come back now.

Can you give me any examples of what the ownership did well during the 70s and 80s other than get lucky that we won a few cups?

Do you actually think they ran the club well?
Not forgetting how drastically football has changed in that time.

What the FUCK is going on today? Is this real life?
