We're not the richest club in London, we make the most revenue not the most profit.

I knew some people would weaponise that click bait statement. 🤦‍♂️

Profit doesn’t mean richest either. Revenue means rich as much as saying profit does.

Assets and wealth means rich.

The richest people in the world don’t even have salaries (revenue) they funnel their income into as many different things as possible to avoid tax.

Killed your entire argument already, stop speculating and give me something substantial.

You show me the evidence seeing as you're the one disputing the claim, don't be a lazy fuck and come up with a worthwhile rebuttal for a change - you can't claim I'm speaking bollocks if you're doubting your own evidence.

You're talking out your bottom again matey.

You'll be telling us Forbes is an unreliable source, next. . :harrylol:

I'll spell it out for you

There you are Ange said he is not expecting anyone else to come in and we haven’t got a Kane replacement who can stick it in the net. Levy we have a good manager but you need a support him.

Absolutely

Some of us were even saying that there was no point trying to find a 9 like Kane and that we didn’t want to.
I do agree with the broader point, but switching styles doesn’t change the fact that you have to recruit to the same standard.

It’s true that you can’t replace Kane. But we need wide men that are of an equivalent standard or, at the very least, reasonably effective. It’s just shifting the focus from the nine/ten to the wide forwards.

What’s surprised me this season is how well Son has done. I mean, it’s obviously not surprised me that much as he’s fantastic. But I thought he would need Kane more.

I don't rate Gil but maybe it's best we keep him until at least the summer being that Solomon looks like a write off?

Richi, Son, Werner, Kulu and Johnson for 3 positions isn't enough cover imo.
If we got a decent price for a permanent transfer then I reckon Gil would leave, in much the same way as Big Dav did.

Sanchez leaving left us short but we weren’t prepared to lose the sale at that price.

There seem to be plenty of suitors for Gil, but mainly on loan due to lack of funds, so a permanent transfer (at the right price) maybe too good to turn down

They clearly went with Johnson as a wide forward they believe can get to an elite level and Maddison who brings the same level of creativity we lost with Kane

Kane by aggregate

There is no single Kane replacement

Maddison is the closest if there were to be one.

We intentionally didn’t sign a traditional #9 because the system has changed.
That's a very, very tenuous argument.

When you have a player of Kane's quality, you employ a system that utilises his strengths, or you use Kane in a way that utilises your system.

We can only drool over what we could have seen with Maddison and Kane in the same starting XI

To me Sonny was always the most viable CF option coming into the season, but we needed goals from the wing to replace him.

(Ironically; in some ways Richy finding a bit of form actually complicates matters.)

Very much so.

Son as the nine, with Johnson as the expensive investment as wide forward.

And that’s why I’m worried about how he’s playing. But that’s a different discussion and all we can do is wait and hope he gets better.

My guess is Levy/club thinks Chavs are in a desperate FFP position so will see if a £35-40m bid will do it. Wonder if Liverpool will go back in for Colwell, he is also club trained so would be pure profit for FFP for Chelsea.

Must be why Chavs hope Broja is worth £30-40m.

Really depends whether Chelsea offer him a new deal.

Now is the most they will get for him and part ways or they need to offer him a new deal and he'll be part of their long term future.

But we don’t have Kane and after selling him decided to go in a different direction.

It’s been a decent start to that direction as well.

You have a point that we didn’t bring in a ready now, marquee forward and we still need one.

We are still short of a game changing forward in the summer. And it’s not Timo Werner. If the club are serious about winning things and not wheeling Ange out to talk about it with the conviction that he has, they need to back him with a LWF that can win games this summer
