We could get our player further forward so any opposing player in front of the goalkeeper would be offside and clearly interfering with play.
Offside from a corner?

OH Oh, can’t be another surely?
Is that possible, I’m not sure?
Just checked, you can’t.Who feels stupid?
Would love for us to have the FBs go wide every now and then on the overlap and then cross the ball. Seen a few ganes this weekend and a lot of the teams have their FBs go wide on the over lap and square the ball. Dippers do it and even city with walker. Just think it would vary our pay up. Our wide player except son cannot cross the f’ing ball but we know porro can and destiny has got to byline a few occasions and pulled the ball back.Strange game today in the sense nothing that we tried to up front worked. Plenty of creativity and neat play but the player on the other end of a pass or through ball wasn’t on the same wavelength and vice versa.
Still a win is a win is a win!!! COYS!!!
But some say when we play the same 11 they get knackered? Only diff now is the subs are better option. Don’t think any team no has a settled 11. If you do and do well you are lucky. There is always room to tweak and just get a bit more out of players by subbing them or have them on the bench one week if slight drop.No. Like I said during the game earlier, we haven’t had a settled 11 for 3 months.
Now we’ve got everyone back, I’m expecting things to settle down and click in the next few weeks
I think it’s bcos we just roll the ball when we pass rather than ping it. See the diff at the start of the 2nd where we moved the ball much quicker and more first time.for me its our passing that's off, from TV you can't tell if the passes are incepted or the passes are away from the players, its not just 1 or 2 players its most of them
with that then comes the slow play (as the passing player is looking for the pass)

Even the ex Pro's are mystified when it comes to analysing penalty decisions these days. I don't particularly ascribe to the assertion retired footballers would make good refs it just requires an average IQ and 20/20 vision as a base standard.
What get's my goat about this decision is the over protection of the attacking player, fuelling the premise the lunatics have indeed taken over the asylum...at a time when our GK has been criticised for not being physical enough in the goal mouth we now have the ridiculous situation where the officials are basing their decisions on whether or not a defender has come into contact with the attacker within the penalty area which is absurd, anywhere else on the pitch and its not even a free kick.
At the very least the attacker should be in possession of the ball and then be judged on whether an opposing player has committed a foul thereby preventing a goal and neither appear to be the case in this instance so where the feck was VAR my lord where was VAR?
He would have had a pre season with NF! Also we have hardly been busy with midweek games so we generally have all week to prepare. Werner has just come in and at least he tries to take on his man now and then. Not great but shows some pace. May be BJ will get some confidence to attack the defender more. Let’s see but at the moment right wing is not doing enough in game to help sustain attacks, keep the ball or even press. But he just scored the winner...if memory serves he also scored very recently which seems to suggest he's getting more comfortable...We shall see...it's only been 6 months and he's had NO preseason
The Dier vs Newcastle one was three seasons or so ago. The handball rule has been changed 129 times since then. The ball came off the Brighton players elbow, no pen.
Last season (i think) against Newcastle at home the ball came off Dier's elbow while he was jumping to head out an incoming corner. Pen given.
In both cases the defender was unaware of where the ball was going, both in motion to defend.
I simply don't know how VAR can get these type of decisions so wrong?
If the arm is away from the body whilst the player is trying to defend and gets hit, then it is either penalty or not?
There is no reason for VAR to debate in these circumstances?

I know, just realised, had a very long day with four granddaughters, Imam knackered.
Didn’t it happen with a Liverpool, player yesterday? Why did Scott mctomminey not get a yellow for his goal celebration? Is there some specific rule for going into crowd?

So Sarr gets booked but a dipper or manure player? That can’t be right?
