his all round play is as bad as haalands. waste of a shirt against sides looking to counter. fumbles possession time after time when it requires a bit of nous. needs to be richy as 9 in them games with werner hitting the byline and johnson either doing it on the right or maybe even son there. you need to be up for a scrap as a 9 in them sort of games if you lack the football intelligence to be effective in other ways. haaland gets away with it because hes a threat when the ball does come in from wide areas, son is never going to be that.

Also talking about things and people Sonny is not - he is not HARRY KANE either, who could play as ST but also drop deep, receive the ball and then play angled- or through-pass to teammates.

It is not so much on Son, but it is on Ange how to efficiently use him. Yesterday it was painful mismanagement in regards of Sonny. Not only was his performance absolutely uninfluential, but even worse - at times he dropped to same position as Madders and interrupted his play as well.

Postecoglou has a system and it is one that doesn't take full advantage of Son's talents. It doesn't mean the system is wrong or Son is wrong. It just isn't a fit.
 
There is nothing really wrong with Son, or Maddison for that matter. They both had a great first half to the season and are now out of form. Hope their class shines through, or is allowed to.

Is Son out of form?

He has 3 goals and 3 asissts in his last 6 games. With half of those teams playing in a low block formation that prevents him from getting his usual space.

I wouldn't say he's out of form. Just not suited to certain games yet still producing.

Maddison however is definitely out of form. Not even sure he's fully fit.

we all know he is not brave and is not a 9, but the manager doesn't look at the videos of other matches as they don't matter, a leopard can't change its spots
