Yes, yes, nothing to play for them etc. Or a massive media shitstorm through throwing a game on their minds going into a must not lose Europa game.

Back in 2010, Inter and Roma were fighting for the Scudetto (the League title) in Italy. Matchday 36, Lazio, who were threatened by relegation at that point and a win would secure staying in Serie A, were playing Inter at home.
In an online poll (that I sadly can't find anymore) around 90% of Lazio fans voted to lose and risk getting relegated (bear in mind that relegation to Serie B in those years would normally mean that the clubs would be fighting to not get into administration) rather than win and help Roma win the Scudetto.
Fast forward to the match, and Lazio lose to Inter 2-0. Although a "brotherhood derby" since Inter and Lazio fans had a good relationship at the time (things have soured a bit since Inzaghi moved from Lazio to Inter), it's one of the only cases in Italy where the home crowd was actively cheering against their own team and actually celebrated when Inter scored their first goal (bringing out one of the most famous signs as well, saying "Oh Nooooo" when Inter scored).

2) Haha Sheffield United are one of the worst teams in premier league history and i assume theres a bonus for getting into Europa as well right? if they're motivated by money like you stated in your first point then doesn't that point stand against Sheffield United as well?

Utd played like dogs yesterday and had a chance to affect the title race but nope it's always us that have to be in the headlines and the ones that drive the narrative...

Yeah you're right, winning a game that doesn't impact us at all at this stage is way more important than a rivalry where you could literally hand your biggest rivals a league title.

I'm genuinely astounded that this is even a debate. People want to show that they're 'Proper Spurs' because they don't want us to lose a game are unable to understand the concept of a rivalry.
