Spurs crowd supporting City tomorrow would be a bloody insult to Spurs. This is the City funded by the Saudis, the club facing over 100 charges of dodgy dealings, guilty of dreadful breaches of human rights.Jesus wept smell the coffee, you would want fans to support them. Even if they win the title, the chances are that when their eventual punishments are handed out they could be stripped of the title and it handed to Woolwich anyway.
You need to sit in the away end then.

I don’t see how you can argue that winning is the most important thing whilst also being pro enic & levy. They are the opposite to winning being the most important thing. The odd top 4 & no trophies is more them.

Liverpool have used the Europa this season to bed in Quansah and Conor Bradley; both already look Premier League quality.

They've also given minutes to Jayden Danns, McConnell, Doak, and Bobby Clark.

In recent years they've fully integrated Curtis Jones, Trent, Bajetic, and Joe Gomez into the first team. They could sell Trent to Real this summer for 100m and that alone would pay for 10 years of the academy.

In total these players have probably saved Liverpool 200m in transfer fees. All due to a manager willing to use the academy versus one who lets it rot.

Plus there's the intangible benefit of having players come through with a connection to the club. As opposed to a bunch of mercenaries who see it as a paycheque.
But would they have attracted big stars if they were not playing in the Champions League? Dan’s,McConnell,Clark,Bajetic, wow a frightening group of first team players.

Sorry, I’ll rephrase the question. Have you conducted a poll of all the members on this forum? You must make your posts clearer.
The poll is at the top of the thread. All members can vote on it.
And Tottenham Sean Tottenham Sean is right. There is a huge difference between “supporting city” & nor wanting that lot to snatch a title because we did them a favour

Mmm yeh and how about Trent? And we would absolutely take Gomez, Jones, Bajetic, Quansah, and Bradley in our squad.

As for the CL, I'm not sure what your point is? You can still play academy players in the CL if you have a willing manager. As Klopp proved with the likes of Trent, Jones etc.

Would Arse fans want their team to pass up possible champions league football to stop us winning the league?

It's small club mentality that. Half of you sound like my non-league supporting mate who hates everyone in the world apart from his team. They all need their legs breaking etc, blah blah.
They literally Cheered on Chelsea to win the champions League so we just didn't qualify for it the next season and was saying they would rather lose the Europa League to Chelsea instead of us winning the Champions league the other year.

No there’s not, it is supporting City, only for 1 night but it is supporting them.
Do you live near any Woolwich fans?Know any? I do, and have done all my life. Its fucking unbearable mate. The sarky comments ,the printed t shirts with oh so hilarious slogans, its a nightmare. When they were winning it fairly regularly ,i sort of hardened up to it. But this one is like 1989 all over again .So if not wanting us to win, for one game only prevents all the above, i can live with myself. As i sure as fuck cant live with those arrogant, conceited arseholes with the title under their belts

Are you a utd fan or something? Why do you give a fuck about city

You shouldn’t even have to explain this to spurs fans

Erm yes they 100% would

In fact they were happy for their team to lose the europa final against Chelsea if it meant we don’t win the champions league… and that’s with an actual trophy on the line not the 4th place cup

Not diplomatic at all.

No shock that he said we always play to win etc

But really surprised he doesn’t get the tribal nature of football. Especially after managing Celtic.

Smacks of growing up in Australia where the tribalism wouldn’t exist in such a way.

He is in for a shock tomorrow, as I’m certain large portions of our fans will cheer City goals and sing songs relating to wanting to lose.

See, it's fine if that's your interpretation but my read of it is that he's simply feigning ignorance (and, understandably, doing what he can to foster some kind of winning mentality). I think he knows full well what a lot of the fanbase are thinking and the last person he'll admit that to is Ian 'Moose' Abrahams.

In the end, it's not a fixture where he likely even needs to worry too much because as I said before - it's difficult to see anything other than a Man City win, especially with the way he approach every game regardless of opponent.

As for our fans in the stadium: I have faith they won't be embarrassing. If we go ahead then I expect a bit of tense/muted celebrations for the goal(s), but in the end I think they'll have decent poker faces to not look too thrilled about any Man City goals. I wonder if it'll just be a bit of a tipsy party regardless of what's going on in the game. A bit like Bundesliga fans.

Yes they would.One example.
A mate from the local is a gooner, and absolutely detests Liverpool,i mean really hates them.
On the night of the Champions league final in 2019, he was on Facebook declaring his undying love for them,if they stopped us winning it before they did. They are as every bit the same as most* Spurs fans are over tomorrows game.

*Most ,as in all the ones i know and have spoken to.

I'm really fascinated by what the atmosphere is going to be like in the stadium tomorrow. Will there still be pro-Spurs chants? Are the majority of the crowd genuinely going to be supporting City, or does real life not reflect this forum/social media? I presume there will still be a high number of tourists there - what on earth are they going to make of the home fans potentially rooting for the opposite team?

It's a proper unique situation in English football and I can't think of another time it has happened (I vaguely remember Portsmouth fans cheering for whoever they were playing to send Southampton down in the early '00s, but think that was the away section).

Will be a game that goes down in the history books whatever happens.
We had a similar situation when playing City at home in 2013/14 , Beating them would have almost certainly have given Liverpool there first Premier league title.
We lost 2-3 at home the game was played in a strange atmosphere when we scored there were whole sections glued to there seats while also many cheered when City scored.
If I was a Spurs fan tomorrow night I would definitely want City to win regardless of CL qualification
