Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes I do. The two go hand in hand , I wouldn’t entertain a conversation in real life with a spurs fan who doesn’t understand our rivalry with that lot.

You don’t feel it the same as us who get it, this is just a sports team you follow to those who don’t understand it, its more to us who do…
things like this let you know who the real ones are. the 'sports team followers' just cant get their head around it. welcome to modern day football.

A Chelsea fan just remarked to me: "That's the essential reason why Spurs don't win anything now - you just don't care enough about winning 'cos there always seems to be another priority for you as a club - and the fans exemplify this right now. Why don't you stop giving a fuck about other teams, and start caring more about winning something properly for the promising team and massive club that you are?"

Isn't this what Ange is actually saying? And isn't it how all the other big clubs that do win things actually think? Utd, L'pool, Chelski, Citeh, and those lot down the road....

That Chelsea fan is speaking out of his arse, we don't win anything because we've been largely shit and our mentality has been in the bin, nothing to do with prioritising other teams' fortunes or whatever.

No way on earth will he be kept for worse.
As soon as Levy see's we're going backwards, he's gone. Levy isn't here to build a long term plan. He just needs us in and around the top 4. He'll have no appetite for relegation battles or relegation.
I don't think there's any danger of relegation for Spurs. When you compare the talent on Spurs to most any team below 7th it's clear we have a good young core. Premier League after the top half of the table is fairly dismal. There aren't but 7, if I'm remembering right, teams with a positive goal differential. And I don't think Postecoglou is a bad coach even if he's not one I like. My point, which I didn't make well, is that as long as he keeps Spurs in the top 7 people like him so much that I think the fan base will continue to back him.

That’s exactly what he’s saying.

But that is utter nonsense. We as Spurs fans want us to win every game, however, we dont want us to win this one because we dont want the scum to win the league. Honestly, it isnt that deep and it isnt that difficult to understand. This Chelsea fan is just using it as an excuse to have a pop at us, ignore it. He's wrong and out of his depth.

Fans attitude can reflect the club's priorities and also can drive the club forward... Spurs fans seem to think that pretty football and preventing some tin-pot local rival winning anything are more important than winning something real.
Ange wants to change the whole club's approach and mentality and you're right about our mentality being in the bin. Winning is the priority and we do that on our own terms 'cos we'll have the best team - surely that's got to be the attitude from fans and the most likely to help the club achieve what we all really want - trophies.

Who actually thinks that then, I'll be intrigued to know?

Do you really think a win tonight will suddenly change the culture of our club? Even if we win we'd most likely fluke it anyway, maybe if it was a performance where we'd outplay City and you can say ok we're ready to compete with them next season but I don't understand how watching this team over the past few weeks stink this place out suddenly means that beating City in this match means that we're on the way to changing the entire culture?

I hate the idea of Woolwich winning anything, let alone the Premier League. We're actually a better team than them when we turn up and have a far better approach to the game, which makes their whingeing, negative, set-piece dependent and defence-based run towards the summit this year really hard to stomach. But as a club we have to stop caring about other teams and start caring much more about what we can do. It's time Spurs started getting ruthless about winning, cos finally after the Maureen/toupee years, we've got a team worth backing as winners.

Lol. Coming from the cunts who chant "we hate Tottenham" at EVERY home game. As part of their theme song.

It's ironic that you mention a Chelsea fan because there's a club who have absolutely focused on us and cared and obsessed over us, from taking our transfer targets, our staff, their fans sing about us constantly, their players literally came out in public and said that they didn't want us to win the league in 2016 so all this about caring about other club is straight up bullshit because I've see them picking up endless trophies year after year.

I've said it a thousand times, once the manager/squad relationship is over, it doesn't matter how good the players are. The team will drop like a lead balloon.
You'll have a manager who doesn't want to be there and is just waiting for the sack and his compensation, and you have a squad of players who know they will likely outlast him.

Time is nobodies friend in that scenario.

a good 0-5 stuffing tonight will signal that the relationship is breaking. up the citeh!!!!!! win the league and get us rid of this fat aussie prick

He literally said he didn't care what the fans think and wasn't fussed by their opinions, how is that not disrespectful to the fans?

He could have quite easily said "Well, I understand they have a bitter rivalry so they are allowed to feel how they wish to about it but my only focus as a manager is to win every game, that's what I am employed to do"

And nobody would have batted an eyelid.

Instead, he went on a rant about how the journalist needed counselling because he dared to suggest some Spurs supporters online wanted us to lose the game, went on a ramble about how 100% of Spurs supporters would be happy for us to win this game because it would get us closer to a title in the future (absolute nonsense btw) and then downplayed supporters feelings when he said he didn't care and wasn't fussed by people who want us to lose the match, you can spin that how you want but it was disrespectful imo.

You are seeing things in black and white because you can't acknowledge that he could have handled the situation better, instead you have gone on a personal rant about how easily people are offended today (I agree btw, they are, we live in incredibly soft times with people wearing the badge of victimhood at every opportunity) but this isn't about being personally offended, this is about the way our PAID manager talks about the football club and the supporters who pay his wage.

Like I said before, it is a privilege for him to manage this club.

Why is this point so difficult for some to understand? Even worse, why are people constantly strawmanning it?

What else could he have said, that we should lose!?
How can you be so easily offended

It's becoming disingenuous at this point.

It's simple - some people just want our manager to stop falling for Journo Spurs banter bait at the expense of the fanbase. He talks an awful lot about the history of the club and the mentality of the fans for a manager just coming off a 4 game losing streak which could have been 5 if it wasn't for our fucking defenders taking matters into their own hands. We haven't lost 4 in a row since 2004. There's some history, mate.
