Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The fans won’t change Jack shit. We could have an empty stadium but if Pep was our manager with the City team we would win titles. Changing the fans affects nothing and that being said the stadium has been pretty packed and loud this season anyway. City have won the league in prior years with half empty stadiums.
City has unlimited money. We don’t. We need every bit of advantage possible. Atmosphere can help win games

You can't have it both ways though. If you make a joke about the fans they are going to make one back twice as strong.

If you lose 5 out of 6, lose to your rivals, lose top 4, and talk about top 4 and rivals not mattering, you're actually lucky to not be sacked given Levy's track record.

The shit he comes out with only makes sense if we are successful. He's actually better not talking about our lack of trophies until he wins one. He'd be better getting pissed off at the players he signed not being good enough to achieve his targets.
What joke did he make about the fans? He alluded to them tonight and had a dig yesterday. Other than that, I don’t think he’s done anything?

And yes, we’ve lost five out of six. All games you expect to win every season? Or the hardest period of the season? Not sure we’ve been that great against the same opposition for decades now. Three of those matches against the top three. What are we expecting here?

Ange is spot on. Worrying more about what Woolwich is doing that what we are doing is a an absolute loser mentality plain and simple. I’m ashamed to be associated with some of those losers. Playing to win is playing to win. Whatever happens with the standings of the end of the year is due to all the premier league games player over 38 match weeks. Woolwich win the league so what. They’ve done it before. We move on it’s a new season next year. The loser mentality we have is the only thing that seems to stick around. Every decent coach in the world would be disgusted with that mentality just like Ange.
Appreciate the sentiment and all that but maybe just maybe if Ange had focused a bit more on what we were doing we wouldn't have won 3 in fucking 10 games, loser mentality from the fans or not, it isn't us running about kicking a ball.

I disagree on the laughing stock point. The respect we’d have gained from fans worldwide for winning tonight would have been incredible.

Spurs showing a fighting spirit. Integrity. Will to win, no matter the noise elsewhere.

Instead? Son missed on purpose. Fans wore sky blue shirts and did the poznan. Shameful.
But I don't *work* with those fans. I don't see them everyday.

I dunno. Look, people obviously have very strong opinions on this and I do understand the point they are making. If I'm a flawed fan then so be it. I do love Spurs more than I have Woolwich, but there isn't that much in it. I just can't get past the Wenger years. Even if it all goes tits up on Sunday, at least we didn't gift them it. Would have absolutely broken me.

Now, Ange might very well think that fans like me are a problem, but the only way you turn that around is by delivering some form of consistent success.

I think the emotion of the evening and 48 hours leading up to it has got to everyone.

But you can't dig fans out. Or rather, you can, but you need to do your side of the bargain too.

We have been absolutely pathetic against the top six this season. And worse than pathetic against our rivals, you absolutely can expect (at home) to do a lot more.

Not winning once in six games against West Ham, Woolwich and Chelsea? Fuck off. Disgracefully crap. And then we get a breather, some space to play someone crap, we barely scrape together a 2-1 win at home to Burnley.

The team is dead on its arse at the end of this season, we're clutching on to EL for dear life. Ange survives only by virtue of a great start.

Good players and tactics are more important. Get that right and you’ll find atmosphere won’t matter as much. Atmosphere doesn’t win games of football, despite any bollocks you might believe about certain stadia.
Atmosphere doesn’t win, but it really helps a great deal. You’ll have to search long and hard to find a quote from a player to say it doesn’t.

I've been a fan of Ange and thought he set the team up well today, however he needs to understand the rivalry more I think.

Football is very tribal, especially in this country. I'm glad we didn't 'throw' the game and we did have chances to get something.

Like has been mentioned, tonight was very much a one off match and hopefully won't happen ever again. We shouldn't really have ended up in this position anyway if we had made more of a fight in a couple of other matches before this game.

And another point, if he wanted to win that badly why did he put a 16 year old on with 10mins to go?!

I wonder if there's something more going on than just his issue with fans not wanting to hand Woolrich the title? By saying 48 hours it points to that, but then he talked about the foundation and having to reassess what he needs to do about things. There's nothing he can do about the fans, we think what we think. It's not like he can go out in the transfer window and get better fans. This is a manager who has been around football for all his life. He knows how fans feel about rivals and, more importantly, how they feel about their team whether the trophy cases are full or not. Why would you not listen to what fans were saying about the game in that context and just shrug it off and move on? And why say what he did about the last 15 years? It comes off like someone picking a fight, but with who? Going back through his career, Postecoglou has reacted with some heat when challenged. But who challenged him? The foundation remark makes me think he's had some issue with either team management or some players. There has to me more to the story than just fans having mixed feelings about one game.

He understands rivalry just fine. Ever been to an old firm match? One team of cunts against another, but it’s a sight and sound to behold. Something everyone should witness at least once.

The rivalry there far exceeds ours, in every way.

You sweaty cunts have changed you're tune. He was going to be the best thing that ever happened to us. The football was going to be incredible. We've not come from a relegation battle to 5th. We've gone from one shit show of an end of the season straight in to another. I suppose we should be on our knees chanting we're not worthy for such a fucking truly magnificent season where the best thing to happen to us is losing a game that doesn't give our rivals the title. What a fucking season eh.
To be honest, it was pretty good. Not great but good. Besides, practically nobody singing Ange's praises predicted some wonderful first season - his first at all his clubs is always inconsistent, with some good and some rough patches.

But if you can't see that the season could have gone much, much worse for a side needing a rebuild and losing one of the best strikers in the world (who was relied upon for goals very heavily) I don't know what to tell you except that yes, it absolutely could have.

Ultimately though, he's failed to win a trophy this year, like every Spurs boss has for the past 83 seasons. So relax and let's cook next year.

I was thinking there were a few players not giving a huge fuck in the last couple of days of training. But he was certainly digging at the fans too.

No way, they would have laughed and said typical Spurs winning to help their biggest rivals while playing like total cunts when it really mattered against everybody else.

Losing tonight wasn’t the issue. Being fucking spineless against Woolwich, chavs, Liverpool and fucking Newcastle is the issue.

The idea other fans would have respected us for winning is absurd. Actually they would have taken the piss even more and we’d be even more of a laughing stock, not less.
