Gallagher looks like one they go for that adds to HG.

Can’t see KWP happening tbh. I could definitely see them going after Gray as he’d be HG and covers #6 and RB.
A lot will depend on the outcome of the playoffs...

If Southampton don't come up then KWP is a no brainer, guy never should have been sold in the first place.

Our procession of right backs since Kyle Walker has been a joke Aurier -> Doherty -> Royal

~70m worth of right backs there and arguable we've gotten worse with each one.

And we flogged KWP for the pleasure of bringing in PEH.

:ange-facepalm:

If Southampton win then KWP will stay there, Gray even if Leeds don't come up will be v. expensive I imagine, and much more competition for his signature.

Why are you leaving Porro out? Or does his transfer just nullify your point...

Besides, we got PEH for 2M + KWP. On hindsight, it was a good transfer for all parties involved.

Gray would be more expensive for good reason.

We paid more for Porro because we were sure he was going to be good. Better to do that than taking 3 attempts to get a player.

Gray can legit cover RB and 6 in this system and will only get better. I think he’s probably still young enough to count at CT eventually as well.

My wording was misleading, it's because I'm not lamenting his presence yeah, I'd happily erase all of our rb dealings between Walkers sale and Porro's signing and be sat currently with Porro/KWP as our options.

I'm not saying we've never signed a good rb, I'm saying that particular sequence was both costly and entirely unnecessary.

The Porro signing bucked a horrendous trend for us in that position.

Any team with common sense will only offer him a pay-as-you-play contract. He must one of the EPL players who's run up most injury days from training sessions knocks (his injuries rarely occurred during games)...
