I think your last paragraph is probably correct but not the second one. No way Levy regrets Poch bringing in that CL money.

Pretty much all of Daniel Levy's time at Tottenham has been about building the club up from one which was around mid table with the occasional cup win to getting us to compete near the top of the league and getting to later stages of cup competitions.

To say that Poch disrupted Levy's plans is way off it, for example the stadium plans were announced before Poch took over, the fact that Poch was manager at the time of the new stadium being built only would have helped build us up as a club, build the reputation etc. Daniel Levy has only ever spoken positively about Poch over the years he was manager with us.

If anything the person to blame for the unrealistic fan expectations is.... Daniel Levy himself :roflmao: 😆

This is actually a great call.

And remember, Poch did it all on a shoe string budget comparible to Burnley and Norwich !!!

The shameful thing is, when it inevitably reached its ceiling and the decline started to set in, the majority of our fans turned on Poch and supported the cunt who never backed him.....even though the club went on to record the highest profits ever posted by a football club. Mainly thanks to Pochettino. 🤷‍♂️

His only desire is to keep us valuable.
All he needs for that is upper PL status and frequent CL appearances to get international exposure.
Becoming truly elite and challenging for actual honours every season is too expensive.

Well, I mean, what Pochettino wanted for us is far more than you’re surmised version of what Daniel Levy wants for us, so with that in mind perhaps he did upset the apple cart?

Of course Levy wanted to build up the clubs profile etc, but for success on the pitch? To use our new found wealth as a result of our bigger profile to become a genuinely elite club and compete consistently for the very biggest trophies? Nobody can argue that’s his motivation. But that WAS Pochettino’s ambition, he said so many a time, and the fact he brought us so close whilst working with his hands tied piled on pressure on Levy that he clearly hadn’t bargained for.
