No one player catches us up 25 points. Maybe Mbappe or Vini Jr I guess but we know where they both are already.

no but there are players that help you step up a level and that raises the level of others around them.

Then there are other players that are more or less the same level you already are. And finally there are players that are a level below where you are.

When we signed Richy but had Sonny and Kane still, we signed a player not at the same level as what we had. Abrahams and Toney would be that type of signing for us. Werner was as well.

We are only catching those 25 points if we sign talent that is a level above where we are now. Or like Udogie, Sarr, and VDV they have the ability to grow and become a level above where we are.

Toney is far better than Abrahams....

For some reason, I have zero expectations about incomings.

I think I have reached an advanced stage of Spurs Support.

DENIAL: There is no one who is too good for us.
ANGER: Why aren't we buying everyone?
BARGAINING: Can we just get Ronaldo?
DEPRESSION: Oh, we got Richarlison.
ACCEPTANCE: OK, well, at least he's a Brazilian international forward.
APATHY: I don't care as long as the goons don't get Osimhen.

Kvara not going to PSG is the most recent report.

I will say this about the gooners getting Osimhen. There will be nowhere left for Levy to hide if they pull off another signing of that stature and still spend elsewhere like they did last season with Timber etc.

We have more stadium income, same ticket prices, we had higher revenue before the overtook us for CL. They are a few miles down the road. He has no excuse not to provide a budget to match them. Even the biggest Levy defenders would have a tough time arguing that one.

There is zero reason why we couldn’t be in for Oshimen if he is available. The only reason we won’t is Levy and ENIC.

I would argue the opposite.

Every year expect that we should be challenging and winning things. The more despondent the fans get with each dead end season, the less tickets they buy, the less merch they buy and the more pressure on our owners.
I hope it's not the case, but I worry the problem might exist in a 'bubble'.

Visitors, Corps and Tourists buy up overpriced tickets, reducing ST numbers and raising prices overall. This is seen as scalable and highly profitable, hence leaning into it, year on year.

Until one day, we're in decline over two quarters, now three and there's no regular customers (i.e. ST holders and local fans) coming, since they can't or won't afford it, because they know they're being treated like fucking mugs and the bubble bursts, taking the investors/shareholders and the club with it. Next stop, Saudi ownership, cash injection, all too late and we're back in the noughties, fighting for scraps.

That would be on Mr Levy if his guidance and economic model took us there.

If he doesn't start winning things soon, we may well end up headed down that road.

Plus the fact that atm, we're not an attractive proposition for a really ambitious player...I think Levy and Co are very well known amongst the profession to have no real ambition and I'm afraid Ange is still a relatively unknown quantity...of course the better players are going to gravitate towards the teams that show that ambition. This is a sad state of affairs...

So he wouldn't have gone to Chelsea then?

Pretty sure they ruled it out pretty early that Chelsea had little chance.

Osimhen wanted Real Madrid, PSG or an English club in CL (Woolwich likely as he's a big Woolwich fan)

We had no chance the moment Villa beat us to top four. And tbh, I agree with you that I don't think Ange/Lange would have even contemplated it for the fee it would have cost when we need a CB, full back depth, CM options and wide men first and foremost.
