Seeing as we're still posting filth ....

That's a proper Dr Evil vibe there.

i honestly think that chelsea game was far more damaging than some realise. him playing that suicide shit with 9 men was beyond crazy and exposed him as not having a fucking clue. hes 100% lost players belief after that and its understandable.

this is the guy that wants to dominate teams and play possession football with the oppo pinned in and he goes out and spends 50m on brennan johnson.......surprised he didnt want the slowest defender in the world to play with his defence pushed up to the halfway line.
It was 1-1 until the last minute. You wanted us to play attack v defence for 30 minutes ? You think we’d have got a result that way?

The only person who has exposed themselves as not having a clue is you.

It was 1-1 after 35 minutes. we went 2-1 down on 75.

I don't think Ange is "clueless" as per daveyboy88 but I think our tactics and game management that night were really poor. Playing a high line with nine men and 8 of them stood on the halfway line with no pressure on the ball was really daft and asking to be mullered, and that's what we got.

There appears to be handful of fans here who decided early on that Ange is not up to the job. It certainly feels like they actively want him to fail so that their preconceived ideas are vindicated.

The accusation that there is a group on the forum who are part of an Ange cult looks like classic projection. It definitely feels like there is an anti-Ange cult.

The vast majority here, given the empirical evidence of the posts, just want the manager, whoever it is, to do well and for the club to be successful. The 2023/2024 had its highs and lows. However you look at it, though, there was a definite effort to change the playing style and the culture in the club. Most fans seem to accept that the new season will be the acid test for seeing whether we are on upward curve again.
The negativity of the few is jarring because there seems to be a compulsion to post the same criticism over and over again. The volume of posts by the few gives a very unbalanced view of the overall sentiment here.

I have no idea if Ange will be 'Gone by November'. On the evidence of last season, I see no reason why that should be the case, but you never know. I'm hopeful that we see a successful window and that we show real progress, but, again, you never know. I'm excited to see how it goes.

What if we'd scored (we nearly did). Multiple chances were there when playing with nine.

Postecoglou doesn't play the percentages. He does not do pragmatism. That's just how he rolls. In the World Cup 2014 up against World Champions Spain, and runners up Netherlands with a squad of mostly League 1 players when asked how he'd manage the challenge he simply said: "We won't die wondering". A bit more quality in finishing and he would have done the Netherlands (who had smashed Spain 5-1 in their previous game).

Personally I don't agree with his approach. One thing for sure is you'll never be bored, one way or the other.

Are we still on this?! Lol

Yes it looks bad cos they got two late goals and we rode our luck a bit.

However, after going 2-1 down, it was us who had the better chances. There is absolutely no way we would have had any chances of we had sat back.

I've had enough of sitting back and hoping to nick a goal on the counter - which hardly ever works for us even 11-11.

Awful night that was but I'm proud we still had a go right to the end.

Serious question: Was the squad better than 5 th?

We spent the majority of the season in 5th and ended the season in 5th so I guess that's where the squad is at at the moment, the table never lies.

I think people have massive heightened expectations after the first 10 games and as a result over rated the players and thus their expectations and thought we were up there with the top 3.

well it wasnt 1-1 until the last minute was it you thicko. the only reason we didnt get properly mullered was because chelsea was shit. it still ended up with jackson scoring a hat trick. we was never getting anything from that game it was a matter of time. liverpool showed how to play with less men and they almost got something from it against us as they adapted the only way you can. clueless french fool.

He hadn't done anything to warrant a job at one of the supposedly richest clubs in the world in the richest league in the world with the most competition below City.
At age 58 he wasn't even a hit and hope coach like a Naggelsman or even that twat AVB.
As for whether he will be gone by November and not seeing any evidence this will happen.... What about the relegation fodder form from February (when all our players were back) until the end of the season?
You think Levy will not pull the trigger if we're 14th in November and barely able to string 2 wins on the bounce together?

I'm not saying it absolutely will go down like that, but you mention evidence, and all the actual evidence points towards a team that actually got worse as the season wore on, not better. He has a big old job on his hands to reverse that trend, especially as he's unlikely to get any superstar signings to help.

Went past where the Melbourne Roar play on the tour coach this afternoon, and coincidentally the tour guide had Ange's trademark cough.
:)
Past the Gabba and XXXX brewery as well?

If you're in Brisbane, and you haven't done this already, have yourself a day out at Streets Beach. It's a swimming pool area in the city, with sand beaches. There's shops and a market behind it, with a cracking pub (can't remember the name) where they have live music and do the best "pigs with wings" (ribs & chicken wings) I've ever had. There's shitloads of street entertainment there as well, it's a great day out.

Thanks, but as you can see from my next post, got my teams mixed up! We're not going as far as Brisbane on this tour, just Alice Springs, Cairns and Sydney.
