Wide forward is actually one of those positions where players can reach a high peak very young. Especially if they rely heavily on pace, which will only decline with age.

Look at Olise, Mbappe, Coman, Doku, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Yamal, Barcola, Bakayoko, Palmer, Saka, Dembele. All a very high level by 21.

It's not like striker where you need to wait til their late 20's for them to properly learn the role. DM arguably another one of those positions too.

Re Brennan, it's a judgement call and I know it divides opinions, I just don't see him improving from this level. He's not suddenly gonna turn into Olise and learn some composure and technique.
Great selection of wide players most younger than Johnson and much better. Yet some keep saying his young.

Sigh. Still obsessing over G/A stats. Nicolas Pepe had better G/A stats at 24 than Son did too, maybe we should've signed him.
Ignoring him mate g/a is not the be all and end all. Need to look deeper in terms of contribution in overall play, hold up, ability to beat a man then pass it to team mate, etc. also look at the oppo. Can he pull something out of the bag in tight game v another top team. He goes missing too much and is defo not strong enough infact he shirks challenges more than Son. Finally will he score a goal like sonny’s v Burnley.

Looks like de ligt is going to united…..

Very curious one… Bayern don’t let good players go, this is a guy who was dropped for Eric Dier… also can’t make the national squad ahead of De Vrij

Not saying he’s bad just would be very wary of the signing.

Then again, it’s united so they’ll offer an 6 year contract at 400 K a week
And they brought on some guy Michael van something or other before him.

Couldn't disagree more. How many players have you seen who couldn't control a football at 23 suddenly learn how to later on?
100% you can’t teach technical ball skills at that age. Either have it or don’t. If you could you wouldn’t see players like Carlton palmer or the like. Football is littered with players who may have had pace but no real skill. Skill is having the close control to beat a player or two in a very short space.
