Isn’t Doue supposed to be the next big thing out of France the next Mbappe or Martial (Martial was huge at the start of his career). Surely we will get beaten for him.
If he is the next Mbappe I will be seriously pissed off, but if he's the next Martial I won't mind so much. Buying from France is always a lottery.

Love the transfers of Gray and Doue. You can never have too much young talent. But we really need to be signing two players with real experience who make our 1st XI better now or at least challenge current players in it.

and that is why we often end up with an nkoudo, njie, stambouli, gedson, byan gills, djeds etc etc.

Levy getting that stiffy for the hopeful increased value of the younger player in a few years time rather than getting that prem ready and proven player who will propel the team in the here and now and not hopefully in 2 years time by which time the manager who bought him has usually been sacked
:ange-facepalm2:

It’s also why we have Udogie Sarr and VDV or Dele before and Rose/Walker

The biggest thing is how good your scouting is and how committed you are to believing in it. The prices it takes to get the likes of Gray and Doue tells us they are pretty committed. 8m for Bergvall looks like theft until we see him play that is

Didn't we sign him yesterday???
:andros:
Or is it a Hercules revelation???

Depends

One success like Dele outweighs about 5 fails because you end up with a 100m player in your team that you paid 8m for

dice rolls from time to time are fine, but to truly push on the club has to spend big on top prem ready players/ or top bracket foreign talent

this model is unlikely to achieve success, the fans dont have the patience for it, the players themselves dont have patience for it as start to itch for a move, and nor does the board who look to sack the manager

but whatever really, I've made my peace with the fact that we just make up the numbers in the league
