the only thing that might save him is ange not wanting to look silly by buying him in the first place. the only reason he done a U turn on his comments regarding the fans wanting to lose against city is because he had to. i dont think hell admit he was wrong here even if he knows it. not knowing that certain footballers are only useful in certain systems would be embarrassing for him at this stage of his career.
I think if Ange had Eze as his priority signing, then he'd be signed already. They've always known how much the release clause was, so there is no benefit to waiting.

You could be right about that. He may be the first player signed after Euro's.
He's right-footed so he can play both LF & RB back.
But, again, I would NEVER get carried away by a player based on tournament performances.
So many Spurs fans wanted Joakim Mæhle (also a right-footed LB) after his performances in the Euros 2021.
