LCB/LB - sell Davies for an upgrade (Davies by the way has been a great professional for us)
Wide forward - Son, Moore and Johnson are great goal scorers but someone who is quick, holds the ball up well, holds the width, runs the full backs. Neto/Cheisa are linked they would do, they are different to what we have in how they play and can help with balance. Werner and Solomon are maybe not quite the level.
AM - Maddison needs competition, Eze is perfect. Also means with them 2 and Kulusevski we can switch tactics to a rotation possession attack like City if we need.
Striker - Richy ain’t bad but always bloody injured. Would like Goykeres but Toney/Solanke isn’t awful.
I think we do this and we will be lovely for the season ahead.

The French league is in serious financial troubles aside from the giants like PSG, Lyon and Marseille (and Monaco with their oligarch owner).
They have no TV deal in place for the second season running. With some smart scouting you can definitely find gems in France.
A midfield 3 of Sarr, Eze and Maddison makes no sense.

This is basically what I was trying to say in my prior post. Front line balance.
They do have a tv deal. 500m euros a season when they wanted 1billion. They really depend on the prem lge buying their players.
We rarely if ever get big name signings. And why shouldn't fans of a massive, wealthy and historic club like Tottenham Hotspur no longer allow themselves to be excited by or expect big name signings?
We don't get the trophy buzz our rivals get any more. For fuck sake don't take this hope away from us too!

They got 500m a year. Had 580m a year before this deal. They were expecting 1 billion a year like serie a and la liga
Because big name signings need to be able to fit, there is no point signing big name signings for the sake of it just because it makes us feel good.
This fambase wants us to catch up to the teams above us but are happy to accept players that cost a lot even if they don't fit into any system, thats's not going to accelerate our progress any quicker...we've been down this road so many times.
Spot on. We need to sign two wingers with good retention. Eze/Doué, Neto etc. We have enough decent options at striker for this season
Van Der Vaart as an individual was great, but I remember arguments being made throughout his 1st season that he completely unbalanced the team; we became all about sending high balls to Crouch, so he could receive the knockdowns and we became quite one dimensional.
Marquee signings can only help when the club is in the right position, the last time we were in that spot was 17-19, but the club was so focused on the stadium rather than the team.
The Klinsmann side finished 7th, the VDV side finished 5th btw.
