Chart goes a long way to explaining why Neto might be a good target… despite his injuries, he was still top 5 for carrying the ball into the danger zone. Eze not far behind him either.

Considering his injuries Maddison still top 7 for non cross expected threat. No really fucking sure what expected threat is though or how you measure it.

Thing that I was wondering is why would you not count crosses for that stat? I guess to show playmakers from central areas creating danger.

Mbuemo is criminally under rated.

We definitely need more fullbacks and somebody to fill hojbjerg’s games. He was a player always available and never injured. Not always easy for us to find nowadays.

And that’s even before buying players to improve the starting XI, yet it seems to have gone a bit under the radar.
Agree and i'd still say a keeper as well. We really do need that quick LB/LCB because any bad injury to VDV or Udogie and we're in trouble. As you say largely forgotten about as rightly the attacking options are where we need the instant first team impact but if we really want all bases covered we need 5 more players. I'd say the chances of that at this stage are pretty much nil.

Gray will cover PEH minutes and the hope is Spence will cover the RB slot? LB could probably be covered by a combination of VDV, Spence, Donelly and Davies but ideally I would like a player that could play LCB/LB

He had a good opening few months of last season , he still wasn't breathtaking but he was decent . He was garbage from Feb onwards and a couple of half decent performances against the Sheffield Utd's of the world are blinding people.

He's a "decent" enough player on his day but not good enough for where we want to be. FWIW you could say that about every single one of our attacking options as of today, except maybe Sonny

Don’t agree tbh.

Think his versatility and mentality are almost irreplaceable in the squad because of the way it allows us to run a smaller a squad and build. We’d have finished mid table without him last season

Skipp deserves a chance to go and play for a team where he will get lots of game time. He'd be good player for a lower PL team or a top championship side.
I don't get the obsession with keeping the poor lad here, where he will get hardly any game time and a number of the under 21 lads have moved ahead of him in the pecking order. He's just sitting in the background rotting away, he needs to be allowed to make a career for himself.
Well said 👏👏

Who has moved ahead of him? You've seen a couple of kids in pre season friendlies and suddenly everyone thinks they are ready for the premier league!

When Son went off at the weekend, he was given the captains armband. Doesn't seem like someone rotting in the background.

With Hojbjerg gone We have Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr currently to rotate in defensive midfield; with Bentancur, Gray, Bergvall as the more box to box option.

If anything, we need Skipp's experience to help Sarr, Gray and Bergvall.

It would do good to remember, Bergvall played 12 games last season, and both he and Devine has never played at the 'top level'.

Skipp is 6 so he's behind Bissouma and if he was good enough we wouldn't have signed Gray and lol Sarr doesn't need Skipp's help - Sarr is more favoured than Skipp if anything.

Pretty sure he's gonna be out the door soon.

I'd really like Solomon to get a proper chance. His career has had a lot of unfortunate things happen in it (like the Ukraine War) and he's probably had a really traumatic year being Israeli. One of my best mates is Israeli and they're all suffering.
Boy needs a W
Don’t think he will get much game time. His position is on the left and we have Son, kept Werner for another season, plus Mikey Moore. Can see him getting loaned out on the last day.
It was an opportunist Bosman signing, probably down to Daniel hoping to make some money.

According to that chart Trippier had a good season, when in reality he probably had the worst season of his life. Rather trust my eyes.
Shots on target make me laugh. Shot from 30 yards, bounces 3 times and goes straight to the keeper….On target.
Shot from 25 yards, smashes against the underside of the crossbar and bounces on the line, cleared away.
Off target.
Which shot has more chance of scoring, Suppose it gives tv something to put in the screen.
