That sounds reasonable overall, yes. Part of our selling-side issues can be traced to that.
But I mean there is also some real unrproffesionalism involved too. Cannot stress the Doherty's case enough... how in the last second it was found out that we can't loan him and thus he was released.
I'd get fired on the spot if I'd fuck up like that.
Another thing is still that we haven't sold any academy players really. I mean take Josh Onomah and Tom Carroll for example. He had lot less chances in starting lineup than Tanganga, and we sold him for 5 mil 7 years ago. Or Alex Pritchard - sold for nearly 10 mil without getting chance for us. Or if you want a defender - we sold Caulker for 10 mil, even though he got lot less games for us than Tanganga.
Now wherever you look, we are making losses and releasing players. Even Rodon was sold at small loss, despite very strong season in Championship. With Royal we are talking loss >10 mil, even though he was brought youngish. With Regulion we would be lucky to get 1/3 back from what we paid.
I'd say last two good sales we made were 2 years ago - offloading Bergwijn for small profit and letting Carter-Vickers go for 7 mil. Last summer - rather poor deals (incl Winksy) and this year - I already descibed.
