Woolwich have strengthened the one weakish area of their defence after having the best defensive record last season (with a player most of us would have loved at Spurs).

United have beaten RM to one of the best CB prospects in the world and added a promising CF.

It has been a slow window but we finished 5th. Surely the ambition every window has to be making up ground on those ahead of you? So far we are showing no signs of that.

And if the rumours of adding only 1 attacker are true then we definitely won't be taking any major leaps.
If we come out the other side of the window without progress I'll agree with you. I just think having so much of Spurs management on the tour it isn't likely we'll see signings before they get back. What will be interesting is what Spurs business in the window says about how far away the team is from top three. With so much focus on youth my guess is they are still looking over the horizon a few years. So far it looks like they are pointing toward 2026 as the estimated time of arrival. That won't sit well with fans, but it is probably the reality of the situation. That doesn't mean they can't reach the top 4 this season, but I think Spurs are two seasons away from title contention.

He would if we lost VDV and Romero though. Well, maybe not that Gray's here, but being 5th choice CB and 3rd/4th choice LB isn't a reason to keep him. Not least because he doesn't count as HG in Europe and is 31. Lovely guy, surplus to requirements.
My whole point was that we don't need to spend 35m on a 4th choice CB rather than needing to keep Davies.

Davies does count as HG in Europe, they changed the rules in 2022.

Solomon, wener, Richy have not been good enough, Johnson is young, so needs a bit more time and son, is not the plater he was.

Solomon played in just FIVE games (two assists) in just five games. How the fuck can anyone suggest that he is not good enough?

Werner scored two goals, and three assists in ten games, joining us in January.

Richy had injuries, and personal issues last season, but netted eleven goals (from just eighteen starts) twenty eight matches altogether.

When you say "not good enough" just how good does a player need to be in order to meet your criteria?

Messiesque?

FFS who do you think we are, and can sign for our forage into the fucking Europa League?

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Neto sounds nice on paper but the games played on grass. Can’t help but think when it’s October and he’s on the shelf with a hammy for a few months we’ll be feeling really stupid.

Gyökeres is the one for me. Put him in our setup and he’s going too score goals for fun. He has the potential too take us too the next level.

Conte about to give Osimhen to Chelsea for Lukaku?!? What a cunt!

Why aren’t we in for Osimhen? I think the old bastard would love Richy and some of ENIC’s cash for his Napoli side.

Sure they still need to sign up some attacking players but if Gallagher really has been an Ange target then I assume they will make a move for him at around £40m. Definitely makes the squad stronger.

Bissouma / Gray
Gallagher /Sarr
Maddison / Bergvall

Bentancur might be another moved on.
You can ad Alfie although I here he may want to move. This thing we have PL2 champions and players will want to see path way to first team. We’ve already let go Santiago, lankshear they are willing to loan so the others are probably thinking they ain’t gonna get a chance. I’d have Alfie all day over Gallagher.

Hdf do city sell their youngsters for so much money when they’ve hardly had any first team action?

Sounds like the entrance to a financial conspiracy rabbit hole scenario honestly.

For these matters I just say sensing the gravity of it is enough, as with Dark Matter in Physics...

City are obviously awash in layers upon layers of financial skullduggery...
