I was told showing ambition was signing the likes of Ndombele for 60m.
So what actually is it?
Granted, but when you have people shouting "just pay the money for Gyokeres," when he hasn't played a single match in the PL, then you've got to question that motivation. He's outscored his xG in the Portuguese league. That alone should put a question mark over his potential suitability, but because it's an £80M pricetag, he's suddenly elevated to elite class. The concern with Solanke isn't that he's not shiny; he's averaged one goal every 303 minutes in his PL career. Had one good goalscoring season in PL last season, and even then he scored less than his xG.
*more frequent penalty taker.
It reminds me a little bit of when we signed Darren bent.
Decent player, will likely improve our team, but isn't going to take us to the top and you would never see someone like City buying a darren bent or solanke.
What's Osimhen like out of possession? any interest in pressing in his data?
A “tap in” striker is a very intense job that requires tonnes of discipline and patience. Your likely gonna have to make runs to get yourself into position 20-25 times a game even though the ball will only get to you 1-3 times.Actually it is quite difficult to be a tap in striker. Most strikers can't play high enough to be able to do it.
He’s a far better natural footballer too. I’m not sure people realise what Solanke is. The goals are catching up to his ability.Darren Bent was and still is a total melt. Redknapp never fancied him tbh and he seemed to be more of a signing the club pushed for. Solanke has a profile that fully fits what the manager is publicly asking for and the scouting seems to be more specific. We saw from Solanke last season that he will put himself about against anyone as well. He's much more assertive and aggressive than Darren Bent ever was.
They did sign Kalvin Phillips though who after 1 half decent season retired at West HamIt reminds me a little bit of when we signed Darren bent.

You've been blabbering on about 'ambition' all fucking morning like a man possessed.Starting to believe "ambition" simply means sign players from big clubs tbh.
It's what Abi Clancy's dad said after meeting her future husband for the first time.Solanke sounds like a word people would say when they tickle someone.
Seems like Ange should bring in Kyogo from Celtic. He's an out and out number 9 that knows Ange's style of play.He also said this
"At Celtic, I had Kyogo, who was a sort of out and out number nine and in Japan, l've always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it's to fair say. You know but if Harry would have stayed I definitely would have used him!" he
said. "So I think for us what's more important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it's going be a
striker that fits that mould. "It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously
that's a focus for us."
Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Richarlison. A striker is clearly his priority. I think he will end up disappointed.
Very good! It's what Abi Clancy's dad said after meeting her future husband for the first time.
I think Milan are 27p off Levy's valuation.
I mean, he had Mane, Firmino and Salah ahead of him.Hard to displace.I remember Klopp praising his scouting dept for signing solanke
He never made it at pool so this can be spun either way
But at some point Klopp rated him
