You can't look at things in context because you don't have the full context of what is actually happening behind the scenes...

No-one said that we shouldn't be doing more than our rivals but I'm looking at the perspective of the transfer window, it hasn't really picked up yet and the majority of our rivals are in the same boat as us in terms of recruitment.

So until then all your arguments about what we have/haven't spent so far fall on deaf ears because you're all reacting out of desperation, sorry.

I am talking about info that is officially out now. And this is - 2 weeks before the window we have signed no player over age of 18. And once again - NO. Majority of our rivals are not in the "same boat" as us. I don't recall any of them selling their best player last summer. And NONE of them have the same FFP headroom than us. So not the same boat.

Also - who said desperation? I am not saying that sky is falling down and everything will be shit forever.
All I am telling is reflection on things SO FAR, BASED ON PUBLIC INFO (so confirmed signings).
Why cannot I reflect on that?

Problem is we are not in a Dissimilar position to Utd the difference is they have made two signings for their first team. There is talk of them doing 2/3 more this window. The fact is we would have probably finished behind them last season if they did not have to play Johnny Evans at CB for 10-15 games.

See this is my problem with how we view things, you say that we would have finished behind them had they have not played Evans at CB but you ignore the problems we had when we had to play Emerson and Davies at CB for example, why is it we were lucky because of what they couldn't do and people don't can't the same energy when it comes to us?

And also focusing on speculation saying that there is talk of them doing this and that, there's talk of us signing certain players so why isn't' this factored into your thinking?

This is classic negativity bias 😆

Buy anyway to answer your question, they needed a CB, they got one albeit he's 18 and untested, did they need a ST though, not sure and that move doesn't really move me, they also were after a LB to replace Shaw and Malacia haven't got one yet, a RW, haven't got one and a 6 to replace Casemiro and they still haven't bought one in so who's actually moved the needle for them?

Woolwich still need a ST
Liverpool need a backup CB and a 6
Newcastle (who people keep ignoring) still need a RW and a LB

Why is it only us that are in desperate need to sign players as if our rivals don't need to strengthen their squads as well?

Since Ange became Spurs manager and the new recruitment team of Lange & McKenzie with a Data Analytics approach took over pls look at the forwards we’ve signed:

Johnson £50m
Veliz £13m
Timo LOAN
Solomon FREE

Now you want Solanke? 😂
Can’t u see Levy is taking the piss
To be fair apart from Werner they were pre Lange. He came in November. Paratici had watched Johnson loads.

Lange isnt exactly inspiring confidence at this point though but again is this the fault of yet another DoF or is it meddling from elsewhere as these issues arent exactly a new phenomenon?

Not a single one of their signings gets into our strongest team.

What constitutes a "better window"?

Surely you won't know that until the end of the season. I've seen plenty of teams "win the transfer window" only to finish bottom half.
They have addressed the huge Antonio shaped hole in their squad with Fulkrug. They have tried to improve the defence with Kilman.

They have improved their starting 11 - whether those players get in our side or not, they do improve West Ham. Didn’t even particularly cost much.

We’ve still got issues at 9, lack top quality at RWF and have little back up for Udogie.

Johnson and Timo both showed their value if you actually look at the data, Veliz is a youth player and Solomon's knee exploded like a month into the season.

I actually like Fullkrug, but they've still spent 30m+ on a striker that managed 12 league goals last season.

Got all the hall marks of a striker who will score 4 goals in the opening 5 games and then score 2 in the next 20.

They have improved their starting 11 - whether those players get in our side or not, they do improve West Ham. Didn’t even particularly cost much.

Indeed, but their starting eleven is alot easier to improve.

Again, if we made the signings they made, we'd wonder where the ambition was.

I do think they have good player, players that are far too good for West Ham (Paqueta, Kudus and Bowen mostly) - but it's still West Ham.

They'll hover in the European places for a bit before settling down in mid table.

We’ve still got issues at 9, lack top quality at RWF and have little back up for Udogie.

Indeed - and going by Ange's own words, he's fairly aware of those issues and pretty confident we'll get them done.

Let's hope and see.

No-one's stopping you from reflecting on it fella, you do you.

You wilfully missed the point about our rivals being in the same boat and I'm specifically talking about the transfer market, you seem to think just because we have this wriggle room that we should go out and spend willy nilly, sorry it doesn't work like that. The point is that the TM is so far dead and the majority rivals still haven't got their players in yet, that's a fact so that probably tells you there's more business to be done when the market picks up, not just by us, for everyone.

The manager said last week that they are looking at specific targets and basically saying it's a waiting game that is the public info you clearly haven't taken into account...

How do you know how far we are down the line with these targets?
How do you know who these targets are?
How do you know the hold up is on our side?

etc..

You don't hence why you're acting out of desperation because you're wildly speculating because we haven't got anyone else through the door, spare me.

Why are you talking about the teams actually going for the title and what they need?

"Why is it only us that are in desperate need to sign players as if our rivals don't need to strengthen their squads as well?"

They are much better than us which is why they finished miles ahead us.

We are in "desperate need" to sign players simply to try and close the gap to them, them adding anything to their squads simply moves them further ahead and yet you sound like we finished a point off top last season, therefore cos Liverpool and Woolwich haven't made signings it's alright for us not to?

"See this is my problem with how we view things, you say that we would have finished behind them had they have not played Evans at CB but you ignore the problems we had when we had to play Emerson and Davies at CB for example, why is it we were lucky because of what they couldn't do and people don't can't the same energy when it comes to us?"
Both Newcastle & United had worse injury problems than we did and finished much closer to us than we did to the top 3 that you seem to think we're the same level as.

...but the 'Bald Cunt' still shelled out £47million for a single player... Worth it or not!

Sometimes we can't win... either pay big, but get slated for paying overinflated prices, or haggle low, and get accused of being a cheapskate!

Which is it?
BOTH!!!

Already answered all your points in other posts and also Newcastle finished behind us so not sure what you're on about there and also can you please stop lying for once?

How about you stop lying mate?

We’ve still got issues at 9, lack top quality at RWF and have little back up for Udogie.

And that's the crux of it. Their owners have shown the intent and follow through to substantially improve their squad relative to their means. Relative to our means, given we have a money printing multi-purpose stadium and the highest FFP leverage, we currently have not done enough.

Plus Summerville and Fullkrug walk into our starting 11.

How about you stop lying mate?

Says that Utd and Newcastle had "worse injuries" then posts a chart saying they got the "most injuries" brilliant :sonpoint:
