Of course, you're more of an expert on chairmen so I'm not surprised this is the one you choose to respond to.
Well...

Definitely clearing the decks. Some of those players have already been replaced as I consider Gray and Bergvall first team upgrades, they look good enough. Dragusin should also be considered a replacement.

I will be very disappointed if we don’t get a backup goaltender. I’m not sure BA is good enough yet. Trial by fire I guess should Vicario get injured.

In this system RB and LB are covering the whole pitch and attacking, they shouldn’t play 90 - 100 minutes every game. Last season we dropped off a cliff without Porro / Udoggie. So we desperately need cover at LB.
Goaltender ? WTF

a perfect finish to the window would be

Buy

Eze (compete with Maddison and cover other roles)
RW - good dribbler who can press
LB - Someone to compete with Udogie

I doubt we will do this but at least RW and LB

Sell/loan if can’t sell

Regulion
Lo Celso
Solomon

Consider offers

Davies
Skipp

Loan to get them ready for next season unless Ange thinks they can be involved now

Lankshear
Donley
Hall
Dorrington
Philips

wait hang on...what about the 15 G/A?

youre a johnson fan but now want an actual winger who can do winger like things? im actually semi intrigued now to what it is that has made you a johnson fan? is it his smile?
It’s not either/or.

In attack it’s helpful to have different tools. Johnson is great against teams who leave space in behind, or when you’re winning, or against tiring legs. But against teams that are very compact or don’t leave much space then a different player is useful.

He's very quick no doubt but do you think he shows enough aggression with his quickness in terms of making runs in behind to threaten the FB and set the whole back 4 deeper by a few yards?

I think Kulu is much better than Johnson in terms of beating his man but he also, imo, offers technical security when he receives and plays the ball.

Johnson would be an excellent option off the bench if he showed the desire to make runs in behind that threaten the FB, if he tried to take on his man for pace more often because that's the only weapon he has, if he was able to receive the ball under pressure and keep it, if he was able to make combinations with teammates both in terms of passing and his movement but in my opinion it's too many if's for him to be considered a relevant piece in a team that's competing for trophies.

As long he's a starter or plays lots of minutes what this team can achieve is limited imo.
Do you think Johnson has hit his ceiling as a footballer?

Johnson is a great player to get on the end of things. But we do need a player that is more involved in the build up including pressing, linking and dribbling.

Way I look at it you have Hazard vs Salah in wingers. Hazard is the ultimate build up player, retains the ball, beats defenders for fun then you have Salah who might do nothing for 90 mins then bang a worldie from nowhere.

Son, Johnson all fit the get on the end of things do nothing then bang a worldie. We need a build up winger for balance. Werner isn’t quite the level, Kulusevski long term is a central player and Moore is a little to young. We need a winger that is brilliant at build up play.

Agree with all that but i'd still say a keeper as well. If Vicario gets injured or suffers a loss of form we have nothing really.

We also need a better Maddison (or if not an Eze…). That would unlock a lot of attacking potential and he’s been poor for all but 3 months.

People don’t like to hear this but Son was underwhelming for his first couple of years in a shirt. It wasn’t a given that he would stay. He showed flashes of extreme quality but a lot more nothingness.

I’m tired of people prematurely writing off players. Johnson may or not make it but progression paths are very hard to assess. I’d love if we got behind our players a bit more - at least give them time.

I take this with a pinch of salt due to the source....but hope it's true...

A few sources carrying the same story, despite it being unusual for Madrid developed players to go to Barcelona and vice versa

Doubt if Barcelona want to pay much money though.

Rumours that ManU who have a Reguillon shaped hole at LB so had to play a CB there in Community Shield yesterday. Would we want to help MamU out as Reguilon probably better than anyone else they currently have - and they had him on loan which was terminated early allegedly after they offered a lowball offer for a permanent transfer?
