So does Moore, but my point was more about bringing in a 1st team winger that can actually dribble and keep the ball, regardless of what side of the pitch he plays on. Son, Werner, Johnson and Moore aren't good enough options to challenge Top 4 and a European comp IMO.
I think it was the biggest need prior to the window opening and it’s the most glaring omission in it to date.

Werner and Johnson especially are timid and too keen to come back towards their own goal. We really needed someone who can consistently run at people to improve.

My new favorite player. Do what you feel in your heart life's too short to care about other people's perceptions. I think Harry Kane should have done exactly this. He is no less a player for having won no trophies. "If he'd said, "from the moment I got here all I ever wanted was to play for Spurs and I cherish my league cup and champions league runners up medals more than anything I'd win elsewhere " The fans would have built his statue there and then. If Zubamendi is where he wants to play football....he has done right thing.

The horrible inevitably of players force to seek moves to Bayern as opposed to staying at Frankfurt or Spurs is empty headed nonsense. Good on Zubamendi. In fact I'm doubling down, I think Gray should have been able to give Leeds another full season minimum .
Leeds forced Gray out to meet ffp requirements I believe. Noises that his family weren't best pleased about it.

You could say the same about VDV, destiny, Sarr and a few others. Why is the same BS always tripped out for Johnson. Who let’s remember has Pl and English football experience already compared to the aforementioned. I find it shocking the lengths some go to defend his signing.
I'm not "defending" Johnson - he had an excellent first season. Again - he scored or assisted 20% of our goals in our 2nd most prolific season in 40 years, and did so in a limited role playing often from the bench.

Nico Williams' production is basically identical, yet the same people in this thread shitting on Johnson have spent the summer frothing at the mouth over Williams.

And, again, I back Johnson to improve significantly this season. Buckle up, it's going to be fun.

I think we will loan out Donley shortly and probably Devine again. Neither came on yesterday although I suppose they can only make a certain amount of subs.
Think that is a shame as we know this all ends. Yet we can keep players like skipp. From what I’ve seen of Alfie he is a much more technical player than skipp. He came on v BM. And kind of played on the right of the midfield 3. Im sure Alfie can play that role.

Proof how misleading stats can be

If you can't recognise the difference between a Nico Williams and a Brennan Johnson perhaps this is not the sport for you.

Doesn’t he play either side?

In their 20/21 title winning season he played on the "right" side. But it doesn't really count because they were playing very narrow (like Glasner's Palace). Goncalves would constantly run in behind the striker, and usually with great timing, so he scored for fun. Haven't watched Sporting recently but since it's still Amorim, I'm guessing Goncalves is as much of a winger as Olmo. So would probably be for Maddison's spot and I don't really see it
