I wonder if Ange really pushes for Gallagher now that looks like it's collapsing.

Chelsea NEED the cash. That's evident.

With Gallagher and Solanke pushing and pressing I think it massively transforms that attack.
Dont think he wants to come here. Think if he did it would have been done by now. Never say never though i suppose, if he's in limbo in 2 weeks time and we havent done much other business both parties might settle out of desperation rather than much else.

Maybe, but so many times we had tons of the ball and were clueless as to what to do with it in front of the opposition defence.

I'm not sure Gallagher does anything at all to address that.

And I'm not sure Solanke is going to increase our goal output all that much, I don't recall off the top of my head that we we're spurning opportunities left, right and centre last season. More just predictably aiming to get down the wing and put in a cross that was easily dealt with by organised defences, hell even the unorganised defences managed to look resolute against us.

Maybe it's the elusive tricky winger everyone is clamouring for that we need, personally I think we need a Lo Celso type with a body carved out of granite. Someone to add some ingenuity in the centre of the pitch, do what Maddison should be doing but for being so out of form.

Gallagher was one of the top players for actions and presses winning the ball back.

I think he's more effective without the ball than with haha.

Personally I don't want him but Ange reportedly did although as others have said, maybe he won't pass the Ange phone call test.

I just can't escape the feeling that, great, we'll get even more of the ball, and then witness even more of us passing it across the width of the pitch and no idea what to do with it...

This squad needs a Maddison alternative desperately, and ideally one that Ange is willing to use alongside him at the right moments too.

To be fair, he's really good.

But yeah, doesn't really make sense now that Spence is reborn.

Looking at the sources feed, seems like he's just rehashing his own story from back in June where he reported that if we sell Emerson, we'll look to replace him with Vanderson.

So he probably hasn't realised Spence is now our second choice and just trying to get a scoop.

I've seen no evidence of any tactical refinery in pre-season.

Pre season is about fitness and running for as long as you can so the players aren’t blowing out their arse after 20mins vs Leicester.

Give it 5 games before we even start judging any tactical tweaks…. That’s if we are even astute enough at watching the game to notice them.

Most fans spent the entire season confusing an attack first mentality for refusing to adapt or plan for opponents. They weren’t even noticing when things were adapted for opponents. Then when qualified coaches pointed out the adaptations they just denied it was true instead of admitting they hadn’t noticed .
