Ex-Spurs Player Giovani Lo Celso

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Doubt that anyone would want him.

Most likely we'll release him and pay off his contract. That's how shit he is.
Slag him off for fitness issues all you like, it's utterly absurd though the amount of people flogging this horse that he lacks quality though.

Multiple times last season when he was used he put in decent displays.

Him being shit is not the issue, being unreliable is.

There is no such thing as a good player who is never fit. To be a good player you have to actually play.
Strong disagree here, when you call a player shit you're referring to their ability, not their robustness.

What you're referring to is usefulness for me, not ability. It's a valid consideration when thinking about whether you want a player in your squad or not, but it's no reason to call someone shit.

Players like Robben and the original Ronaldo were pretty injury hit during their careers, and nobody would call them shit because of it. Not that Lo Celso is anywhere near them in terms of ability of course.

This is just reductive sloganeering that has no room for nuance.

Man has 312 senior apps
79 goal contributions
+ 60 international caps and 3 G/As

..............To whatever extent he has been "playing" throughout his career; therefor one CAN asses his ability.

If he was good enough he would have played more for Tottenham on the rare occasions he wasn't crocked.
Maybe...

Under Mourinho he did play when fit, Nuno who knows, can anyone really remember anything about that brief spell? Then Conte had a very distinct idea of what he wanted his cms to be and Lo Celso didn't fit into that.

Personally I was frustrated last season whilst he was benched and Hojbjerg/Skipp were being brought on for Maddison. I can't get my head around Ange's thinking there. I felt like he should have been used more, especially from the run of games where he was used and looked decent, but then of course he picked up a knock, and I'm not sure Ange trusted his fitness at all after that.

I think if he was fit all the time we'd all be happy to have him kept around based on technical ability.

Yeah, conversations about this bloke have now hit N'dombele levels of I couldn't give a shit. There will still (just like Belly) be people talking him up whilst he does nothing and picks up his cash. If he was English he'd not even have the shroud of legitimacy his nationality gives him. The second worse buy in the clubs history.

Conte exiled him at one point....... Remember we had their little spat when GLC tweeted "I am fit; I'm just not being picked".

Plenty were at the time. Had made a few good cameos but they didn't seem to count for much in the gaffas eyes.

For ref:

Regardless of lack of appearances:

Games missed through injury:
23/2486 days14
22/2349 days12
21/2240 days10
20/21134 days29
19/2055 days12
18/198 days2

Many players go abroad for intenational duty. That's frustrating, but just something that a club puts up with.

When you add games missed from injury, to games missed due to unavailability (national duty) which is a different stat, the missed games rack up to another level. Stats can often be deceiving.

This players missed games stat from both injury and other unavailability would be on another level.

I’ve seen a lot of players come and go at Spurs, but I’ve not seen a player who seems to physically struggle to kick a ball more than 20 yards quite like Lo Celso does.

Surely fames missed solely because players are away on international duty (not coming back injured) are minimal in the extreme? It’s why we have global international breaks.

I guess Asia cup and afcon are the 2 exceptions.

Nope. He is shit. He is very poor footballer and that is why no one wants to poke him even with long pole.

It is super comfy to point out some rare moments when ha came on for like 15 minutes among absolute shitshow and ping some passes. But overall he possesses next to zero qualities in EPL. He is physically weak. He is one of the worst shooter for attacking player I have seen. His stamina on EPL speed is extremely questionable - I don't recall single game where he would have been useful for 90 minutes. His passes were so often way too weak and thus often intercepted... and so on.

He is very bad footballer who also is mostly injured.
He has done next to fucking nothing with what - 4 or 5 years with us.
Definition of useless.

Not a fan then?

Not amongs his biggest fans, indeed.
What gave me away :O ? :D

On that note, I'd like to send my greetings to lads who around last Xmas were making case about "it would take 40+ mil to replace Lo Celso ability" and "he should be granted run of starts so he could become certain starter" and "Lo Celso could be better than Maddisson" and so on and so on :D Just for him never to be used again and be frozen out of the squad by yet ANOTHER manager of ours :D .
