Gil is a worse buy. Make it third. Gil cost almost as much once you factor in the value of Lamela.
Gio doesn't have the robustness. He is technically good. Would be a good futsal player.
i always wanted gio to succeed but i dont think hes physically cut out for the prem. was always the better footballer out of him and ndombele, he was nothing more than a junk food eating streeballer.
gio is a bit like gil, very good footballer but it seems that he physically cant handle premier league intensity.
also who would he be competing with now? madders and berg? hopefully by the end of this year berg has displaced madders. out of the 3 of them hes far better equipped for the prem.
I have a suspicion that if he goes to Villa we will see a baller with a new lease of life, featuring in team of the week after team of the week. Hope not ...
i got a bad feeling about that too. would just be spursy striking again. would be typical that he cant stay fit for us and then goes somewhere else in the prem and is actually healthy. if that did happen internal questions need to be asked.
He would be their technically most able player. And would get the famous "run of games"

Lo Celso hates us- trust me he’ll punish us if he ever gets the chance to play against us again. He shoulda been a beast for us but incredibly we never played him at his natural 10 position- even after a monster season at betis where he hit 20g/20a. Hugely fatal mistake for Poch to not figure out how to use one of his prize signings- and a clear sign that something was off about Pochs tactical acumen.
And Sess. Watch Sess have a stellar season with goals, assists and injury free runs.
Gil cost £21.6m. Lamela was obviously worth more than 7m euro, which is just a made up number.
Say £30m for those two.
Now, I give you that £42m for Lo Celso is little if any better. Lo Celso did play 3x as many games as Gil, so that is something. Have to see what they fetch when / if we offload them.
What is amazing is that he's kept his place in the Argentina team. Hand of fate got him with the World Cup injury tho. Felt a bit for him with that one tbh.

Firstly I'm fairly sure without needing to check he did not hot 20g/20a in one season, 20 combined is more like it.
Secondly, he has injured for most of the time he and Poch were at the club, he'd just come back and was re-gaining fitness/being eased in right as Poch was sacked. So it's harsh to criticise Poch for not figuring out how to use him.
This is based just on memory but I'm confident with a bit of digging I could back this up.
