Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Maddison is a veteran player though, he knows pre-season is about fitness and a bit of rhythm but the prem is a totally different speed. Really not much point trying to decipher anything from his pre-season other than he's finally back to full fitness.

Leicester is probably the best or worst game for him to get up and running again. Either he will be so comfortable and confident in a stadium he knows inside out or he will be a little bit emotional and refrained. The former is by far the most likely. I know I'm a biased Spurs fan but tbh I'm expecting Maddison to be a real handful tonight.
Me too. Here's hoping because an in-form Madders means goals and assists.

Despite him being below average since he's come back I expect him to have a big season.
I think he's gonna have a great game for us tonight...

I get the feeling, that one way or another, he thrives from being the centre of attention...

Now sometimes that isn't always a good thing, but tonight, he certainly will be where the TV cameras (and opposing fans) will be solely focussed...

I think he's gonna revel in that attention, and hopefully live up the the hype!

If he scores tonight and refuses to celebrate then sell.
TBF, I don't count pre-rehearsed goal celebration routines as 'celebratory'...

Spontaneous outpourings of unbridled joy are what celebrating a goal is about...

I doubt he'd do that if he scores...

But if you were to, and can stop yourself... then you probably weren't feeling it in the first place anyway!

Crazy there's no posts in this thread since yesterday because he was genuinely quality, not sure what's happening with his fitness though cause he was blowing chunks after an hour.

Great to see him popping up everywhere and spraying the ball about. He was superb up until the hour mark

Really think we need an understudy or someone else in that playmaker mould as well. He can’t be the only one who makes us tick all season

Bergvall might grow in to that player - but hes not it right now

Was surprised how quickly he tired, and how sharp the drop off was. Good game up until that point. Hopefully he gets back to his potential and increases his stamina as the season goes on.
