We are banking on a 19 year old Frenchman with 1 season at a relegated Burnley side.

He may turn out to be great but it's hardly the gamechanging signing or backing of Ange that we all expected. Same old Levy.
I think you are arguing with people with much lower bars than you. They are happy finishing within 20 points of Woolwich. So obviously are happy with this transfer window which will get us nowhere near our bitter rivals.

You say that but if you notice Woolwich bought young players early in Arteta reign and got rid of the old players thats where we are at now then next year we will probably buy some more ready made players to go with this young core.
If you look at how much deadwood has left this year it's definitely been major surgery.

If you think ahead to next year there won't be the need to organise the same amount of outgoings (probably just Reg + Gil who will likely be back from loans again) + loans/selling off youngsters (Devine, Donley, Veliz, Scarlett).

We should be in a position where the focus is 90% on upgrading the first team rather than rounding out the squad which we have done on paper this summer (Gray, Bergvall, Solanke are all good additions + Odobert/Yang are unknowns).

Son will stick around but should be 2nd choice to a top LW.
We will need to shift Johnson and Richy - we simply have to make room for better attackers. With no Werner, Johnson and Richy in the squad we will have space to do that.

At the start of the window I said priority for me was upgrading both wings but I knew we would have to suffer through Son at LW for another season. Hopefully this is the last with him as a starter and we line up something like this next season (with Moore also chipping in appearances and eventually replacing Son):

LW - Solanke - RW
(Son) - (Lankshear) - (Odobert)
The frustration is that I'd hoped we would do it sooner and could achieve something big this season but we won't with our current attack (unless Odobert has a Dele-esque debut season).

I wonder if Spurs have an eye on Manuel Ugarte. Talk about him going to United, but we seem to desperately need a defensive midfielder, and at 23 fits our recruitment model.

This would allow us to offload Bissouma, who it seems has burnt his bridges at Spurs one too many times.

Why do you people do this? What is the driving impulse to overreact to everything constantly. Biss did a stupid thing, he got sat down for it. He'll be back in the team shortly.

Its not the first time he's been in hot water.

There have been interviews with Ange where he mentioned that Biss is frequently late for training and doesn't set a good example as a senior member of the squad.

Conte also called him out for lack of effort in training; and partying too much.

If this idiot is getting high a few days before the season starts, its a reflection on his personality, commitment and social group outside of the club.

Get Rid - ASAP and bring in a professional.

He would likely be class for us as a DM, but sadly there’s absolutely no way we go for a player of that calibre.

This won't be me eating my words in the same vein as you can't 'win anything with kids'

Our squad is weak on mentality(no idea how that changes) and lacks a central midfielder. Fail to rectify the chasm-like gap in midfield and it's 6th or lower and likely a change of manager by the end of season.

I admire a philosophy but I prefer successful pragmatism.

Right.....

Slight pinch of salt required here as I haven't had anything from this person before but I do know a coach from Wolves (happy to share behind the scenes).

He said we had been in contact re Gomes and the feeling from within Wolves is we will pay what Wolves are looking for (around £50m is internal rumours - add ons included). Apparently talks have been positive thus far and there is a feeling from both sides that a deal could be reached this week 🤞🏼.
