Arthur Vermeeren could be a player who could interest Spurs...if there is an option to buy him. He's mainly a CMF but he can also play as a DMF or a #6 as some of you prefer to call it...
Yes, he's not played 5 games for Atletico Madrid but that doesn't mean he can't get a few games in the EPL. And he's still only 19 and, yes, would need time to adjust to life in the EPL.

Absolutely honking at the euros and I had heard high praise of him on here. Constantly gave the ball away and doesn’t get about the pitch. He got subbed at half time in one of the games because he was that bad!!

Only seen Joao Gomes play once, and thought he was unbelievable . . .

. . . it was the game at WHL last season . . . he scored a couple!

What I didn’t know is they were his only goals he’s scored all season. 😅 Classic Tottenham.

I dunno if he’d be what we’re looking for our not tbh.

What worries me most is we don’t have a single leader in our squad, let alone starting 11. A manager who wants us to be brave, fielding spineless bottlers hoping they will do it

The difference for me is Woolwich needed rice and they paid up for him. We need eze and we'll buy a player for half the price instead of getting what the manager and the club needs. It ends up not working out and we go and buy again.
We're not at the point where we need a "Rice" yet. Most of the players that make up Woolwich's first XI were bought young and have evolved. Once they did, Rice was the missing piece and they went after him. But only after having finished 2nd the year before. I doubt they would have spunked £100m for him a year earlier.

We're following a similar model. And we still spent £65m for a striker, so it's not like we're going exclusively the young and cheap route and waiting for them to evolve. But it may take another year or two before we're in the same position Woolwich was at the end of the 22/23 season.

Ange wants the players to internalize his philosophy, rather than constantly being prodded to do so. If they do, we should have 11 leaders on the pitch. Big "if" though.

You say that but if you notice Woolwich bought young players early in Arteta reign and got rid of the old players thats where we are at now then next year we will probably buy some more ready made players to go with this young core.
