Isn't that him?

Yeh that’s lovely, but he’s a kid, nowhere near the finished article and people are acting like he’ll change this team. He won’t and he’s probably 3rd choice in his position so will be a bit part player at best while he’s settling in here. That’s going to be the reality.
I think this should be the expectation from fans and management. Bit part youth player, one for the future. Let him ease in slowly, come on as a sub, some Europa League etc, maybe stake a start here or there in cups. He’s 19.

But I also think that, especially after Monday, it won’t go quite like that. I think, and I could be wrong, but I think he’s going to look leagues more dangerous than our starting wingers when he does get subbed in. He’ll make some mistakes, sure, but I think the fans and management will have to notice him.

And pessimistically I think pressure will mount on Ange this fall. We’ve got a brutal run in of 10 games coming - at Newcastle, Woolwich, Brentford, at Old Trafford, at Brighton, at West Ham, at Palace, Villa, some respite with Ipswich, then at City. We are going to lose some of those and probably struggle mightily in some. So if he does persist with Johnson and Son and it continues to look like it did on Monday… the noise to throw in Odobert or Moore will be deafening. And if the bad results snowball, which is a very real possibility with EL, managers tend to get desperate.

He is 19, but he has 2 seasons of experience in top 5 leagues under his belt, in which he started the majority of matches. He is far from the finished product, but he isn't a youth player either. He can take part.

I certainly don’t see how he’s any less ready than Destiny Udogie was last season.
