Ex-Spurs Player Jermaine Jenas: Pundit

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Perhaps they have really weak contracts but I thought it would be difficult to fire someone just for a”complaint “
You would think that would carry out an investigation then act. If it proves unfounded he should be allowed sue for them damaging his reputation.

Edwards was a direct employee, Jenas wasn't. Most of the sports people don't work directly for the BBC.

Usually someone is suspended pending an investigation but I would imagine if it's a full on termination and being dropped by his agency they've probably got him bang to rights immediately.

He's reportedly been dropped from Talksport today already - they likely didn't know.

Jenas is such a milquetoast-kinda guy. It's like he was created in a lab to work for The One Show

He's already been dropped by his agent, the very people who are supposed to be looking out for him. I wonder if it's really that bad then.
The BBC neither confirms nor denies that these presenters come from a production line…

I think sending unsolicited dick pics/sexual messages to a co-worker would get most people sacked. It's nothing to do with "woke".
Most people don't give a shit about such a triviality, but these days organizations like the BBC are run by absolute clowns desperate to do "the right thing" (in the eyes of a very small but loud oat milk sipping minority). Just following the irrational trend.

Probably much ado about nothing, but that's the woke era for you.

I'm no legal expert but I very much suspect that "unsolicited communication" to a confirmed female complainant means he's texted her something he shouldn't have. It might just be a "fancy a fuck", it might have been a picture of his tallywhacker, or somewhere inbetween.

Whatever it is, it's attention of an unwanted nature. That's called harassment, which has always been illegal in civilised society. When it comes sexualised, it's sexual harassment. Which, if proved, usually gets you sacked in any job. It's not about being "woke", it is about not being a dirty pervert to people you work with.

Amazed you have to explain this to people.

I don’t really care to be honest Matt. He’s a millionaire former Pro footballer. I am not. He’s not wondering about mortgage rates and Gas prices. I am. So fuck him. He will be fine.
I care about the wider repercussions. Being sacked and potentially having your career ruined because you sent a text to a bird?
Fcuking hell. Is that the world you want to live in?

Absolutely not. But it is the world we live in. It’s a mental shit show.

While indifferent, I do find it rather odd that everyone is happy to openly report this as a “sacking”. The way it’s been framed in the media is actually disturbing. Like they at the Beeb want to look “tough”. It’s nothing of the sort.

Matt, he's not been sacked just because he sent a text to a bird. It's the context of what he sent that's got him sacked.

Do you have a daughter? Would you be happy if you found out that some pervert at her work was sending pictures of his cock to her and she still had to work with him? Or he was texting her trying to pressure her into sex?

Or would you want to go and give him a slap?

In some weird way, I hope it's more serious than just flirting or something like that.
Are we now trying to force the world to date via tinder where mutual interest has to 100% before anything is allowed to happen?

It boggles my mind.

I also quite liked him on TV. He's levels and levels above all the other idiot ex players.

How do you know this is what happened?

I don't. But you don't have to be a genius to work out what's happened.

He's not been sacked because he's sent her "great work today", or "good job getting me that coffee".

And you dodged the second part of the post, conveniently.

He's not been sacked because he's just communicated with her nicely. That's what "inappropriate" means. Unless you are really stupid, you know what it means. It's either aggressive or abusive language, or sexualised. One of the two.

You shouldn't assume, that's what I have a problem with.
The fact he's fighting it rather than apologising says it's not clear cut.

Even guilty people fight charges, Matt.

I haven't said what he's done, I've merely stated what it's *likely* to be.

Are you one of these people that need to see the proof yourself before you believe someone is guilty?

I'm sure Jenas won't mind revealing the incriminating material himself if he's so innocent.

Whatever it is, she didn't want it. That's the crucial part you seem to be missing.
