I get your point, if it's incessant negativity, but the best way to stop that is for Ange to pull his finger out, get the team playing. You can't expect everyone to be positive when there isn't much to get bahind at the moment. An underwhelming transfer window, a manager who looks out of his depth and tactically naive, and a sizeable poor run of results.

I wish I was more optimistic but I'm not right now, and it's down to the squad and Ange to change that.

And absolutely that is your right mate. Not trying to dictate how you should feel about anything at all but there does seem to be some distain aimed towards myself and others that are choosing to look at things through a different lens and labelling people (not suggesting you are saying all these things) as ENIC supporters, happy clappers, Levy lovers because we want to converse about the team differently isn't really that fair either.

I'm not at all happy about Mondays result, not happy about the form in the second half/2 thirds of last season and even much of what has gone on the last 5 years.

But I do have nuanced views on this that are valid and shouldn't have me branded as something I'm not, just because I don't feel the need to make 90% of the things I talk about in relation to Spurs about the owners.

:ange-clap:

I get where your coming from and it gets repetitive every moaning about Levy but it is hard to be inspired by this transfer window unless Gray, Bergvall and Odobert all hit the ground running, Even then it still feels we are a defender short until Vuskovic comes in next year.

Nico Williams is who I assumed was first choice.

Tell me, what would you have done to get him out of Bilbao?

Or eze or pedro neto? We don't know do we.

But if I was to get nico out of bilbao it would be to take a similar approach to what Woolwich are exploring as we speak.

Trigger the 48 million release clause or even just offer 70 million if that doesn't exist, then offer him 200k a week and tell him he's guaranteed starting place and we're building a team to challenge for top honours. I'd also give him a release clause so the door remains open to Barcelona if they come in down the line.

Yeah, we aren't paying a release clause upfront and Levy isn't offering £70m for a teenager...

He will earn more than that at Barca, and it seems he's rather stay than go anywhere except Barca. 🤷‍♀️

Should have gone all in early in Eze and/or Neto.

I personally think that there's hesitation behind the scenes from the board as to how long Ange will be here, in terms of results and pulling the trigger.

There you go again with the "Ange to pull his finger out and get the team playing." What do you propose he does, specifically? And don't tell me he should change the way he plays, because that ain't happening. The way he plays is exactly the reason we hired him. It's just going to take time to bed in. It took Arteta and Klopp 3 seasons and a squad rehaul to get their teams to challenge. You're expecting it after one season?! Not to mention that chopping and changing the tactics every game is only going to lead to a confused squad with no identity and set us back even further.

So you don't think Ange should pull his finger out and get the team playing?

I propose he should tweak his tactics to make us a bit harder to beat. Not defensive, but have it so that the opposition don't find it so easy to get at our CBs. Carragher said the other night you don't even see Pep with the inverted full backs do suicideally high. It's mental. Ange is stubborn and he thinks because it's worked in shite leagues it'll work here. It won't. You've believe in Ange and the project fine, I'm seeing signs he's very very naive and is getting found out big time.

We are so predctable, get the ball wide and fizz it across the box.

As I say I hope I am wrong, and tomorrow we put in a performance. I hope Ange works out, but I just don't see his tactics working here unless he has the best players in the league. it's all a bit Aussie Beilsa so far to me.

I said in the middle of last season that I hoped he wouldn’t end up like Bielsa . By that I mean other teams would work him out, and we would get some hidings. That happened at the end of last season so it cannot keep happening. I can’t say I’m that optimistic. I think those 2 boys will be first choice sooner rather than later.
