Ah I see.
It kind of does my head in! Like we don't get cunted off enough from everyone externally, especially media, then to see twatsy comments like that it's a bit much.

Ah I see.
Let’s see, who out of our actual strikers will start against Newcastle. Our new boy Solanke was injured in his first game so possibly not. Richarlison was injured in training. So no. Never mind it’s a good chance for Lankshear but hey honhe was injured last week as well. Never mind we can play Son there but that means that either Johnson or Werner will likely play. Familiar pattern? If Solanke isn't fit (incredible really) then setting us up like we were against City at home might work.
I suspect it will be lots of posturing and then the predictable.
With Solanke and Richy missing it is imperative we do not play Son as the ST as the ball will not stick and we will get no respite. I'd go with a more conservative team and play Bentancur deeper in a double pivot with Bissouma to protect the back 4 a little more. Key to success will be to dominate possession and try and expose Newcastle's FBs 1-on-1 with our wide players, especially if they play Tripper or Burn. Sarr, Bergvall, Johnson and Werner could all have an impact against tired legs from the bench. Big game for Maddison - is he back on form?
Vicario
Porro ---- Romero ---- Van de Ven --- Udogie
Bentancur ------- Bissouma
Maddison
Odobert -------------Kulusevski -------------- Son
Subs: Austin, Spence, Dragusin, Davies, Gray, Sarr, Bergvall, Johnson, Werner
That was the same midfield three that got absolutely pissed on last year.
Bissouma and Maddison were off form, granted. But I'd be worried if that was our midfield again going into this one.
Makes no difference which combo we play out of what we have got.
And hasn't taken Solanke long to fall into the malaise.
Insane.
Not really sure the team they put out matters all that much.
This was the team they put out at St James Park last season:
DubravkaAnd we lost 4-0. Their team tomorrow will be better than that regardless.
Murphy - Schar - Krafth - Burn
Longstaff - Bruno - Anderson
Barnes - Isak - Gordon
We are going to need to be ridiculously lucky (or simply ruthless with every attack) to get the win on Sunday. Because they'll pick us off on the counter time and time again.
I reckon Son will be the CF for this match, there should be plenty of times to counter attack which suits him the best. Odobert on the left, either Johnson or Kulusevski on the right,
So it begins .. the hilarious playing down of expectations so that if we lose you can claim it was always expected anyway.
Ridiculously lucky? To beat fucking Newcastle? You’re incredible. Just incredible. They’re a good side with some dangerous, quick attackers. They’re not prime Barcelona.

No I don’t. But that’s because I expect us to do pretty much exactly what they want and I don’t rate our own threats enough for us to out-gun them. Also think they have a better midfield tbh.
But they are very much just another side chasing top 6, they aren’t that good, have numerous holes in their team and are managed by Eddie Howe. But that won’t stop Starks/Totti from bigging them up purely because we’re about to play them and he knows we might drop points.
I don't remember the details of last season's game except the score. I just think Newcastle will be pressing us back and we need to try and catch them on the break. There werent plenty of times to counter last year. Why would there be this year?
Son playing central cost us atleast two goals last season in this fixture.

The problem for me is without Solanke or Richarlison crosses are more or less a waste of time, so be as well playing narrower. So when we get a counter going we have two or three players heading goalwards.
