We have 4 points and Woolwich and Man United next.

Hopefully you'll all be enjoying watching us when we're in the bottom half.

I don't like the it idea of sacking yet another manager but we have to ask ourselves if Ange is cut out for our league with this club. We can't just wait in the hope he gets it right, imagine if we are knocked out by Coventry and league position is low, pressure will build.

You sound like Woolwich fans at the start of Arteta's 2nd full season -

I think there is a good comparison to be made here-

His first full season he was abysmal - finishing 8th and losing many games -

Second full season he got rid of a decent amount of shite - added Odegaard, Tomiyasu, Ramsdale and Ben White but still, started the season very averagely - in 12th after 8 games - 3 loss, 3 wins, 2 draws failing to beat, when expected - Brentford, Brighton and Palace.

`Lets just wait and see before we continue down this path of negativity -

imagine if we beat United, Woolwich and Coventry??

The other encouraging thing I noticed against Newcastle was that our press was really effective. We pinched the ball off them so many times - they were pinned in and couldn’t pass out.

Of course the one time the press dropped off they got out and scored.

It reminded me so much of our own games against city over the years. Especially under conte and mourinho where we defended like dogs for the majority of the games.

Unpopular opinion? On here?

- We're ridiculously unlucky not to be on 9 points this season and have been the far better team in each of the three games.

- The underlying statistics tell us we are unlucky with the results and it's much more telling and better for our future that we're dominating but not quite getting the results than playing poorly and scraping wins. Because eventually it will actually click.

Will preface this by saying I "understand" your post / frustration, but cant agree on the facts. I doubt any true fan wants to accept mediocrity. Potter had 3 full seasons.

Ange is in round 3 of his second season, and lets not forget one small mitigating factor in that he took over when we lost Kane. We ended up 5th.

He inherited a mess.

It's not a cycle yet, and is far from it. It's barely one season and a couple of transfer windows. He has managed to get rid of so much deadwood, and has delivered some decent talent. The squad, bar Sonny is barely recognisable.

Our first 3 games, based on objective metrics should have us on 9 points. Shite happens. We lose our striker and have our backup injured as well. Let's see where we are in 8 weeks from now. The manager merry go round has achieved zip. Im enjoying us play at the minute. It's been a few years since I could say that.

Oustanding post. One of the posts of the year.

Should be a button to give this 1000 likes all at once tbf.

LOL at the disagrees to this.

Am sure the same people were harping on about how our scraping wins early on last season was a sign that we wouldn't be able to maintain our points tally as the overall performances were not aligning with the points we amassed.

We won't. Postegoogoo isn't very good and will be sacked before the end of the year.

So why do you compare Postecoglou to him if Arteta is so shit?

Maaaaate - you claim to ask me a question in good faith and then don't answer mine - sneaky.

Firstly I never said he was shit did I? I said, very specifically that i don't like his football, his managerial style or the way he conducts himself - I think he is clearly a decent manager that has been very fortunate with injuries to his most important players the last couple of seasons

Why compare them, -

They both managed their first side in the prem
They both inherited, for the most part, someone else's team
They both concentrated on buying/playing young hungry players and getting rid of deadwood
They both have clearly been hired to be project managers

Nobody knows for certain how long ange will stay in the job.
Much of it will be down to him and his results/tactics, it's more than possible that we lose to Woolwich and utd, make hard work of it against Coventry by going out on pens.
It's a results based business, if you don't or can't get them someone else will.

The same people who have made hating Levy their entire personality who have been critical of Ange since early doors will then slag Levy off when he sacks him.

Being a super fan must be depressing as shit. No joy in anything and I have no idea why they don't just walk away for their own happiness. Unless crowing when Spurs lose does bring some semblance of pleasure then perhaps it's a cultural thing that we just don't get over here which is fair enough.

The only funny thing is that we'll get plenty of gooner interlopers who can't compete.
